  • Patent number: 11297921
Abstract: A clip-on heat shield for use on a hair gathering accessory, such as a comb, is configured to be attached to the body of the hair gather accessory at a back edge of the hair gathering accessory. A void at an engagement edge of the clip-on heat shield is configured to frictionally engage the back edge of the hair gathering accessory to retain the clip-on heat shield on the hair gathering accessory.

  • Patent number: 11116304
Abstract: An ear shield includes a lateral portion and a medial portion that are configured to respectively go over the lateral and medial sides of the auricle of a wearer's ear. The lateral and medial portions are joined together by a joining portion that acts as a cantilevered spring member, allowing the distal ends of the lateral and medial portions to move with respect to each other, but which biases the lateral and medial portions to a neutral position suitable for retaining the ear shield on a person's ear. There are articulating tabs further formed at the joining portion which extend to the rear, opposite the lateral and medial portions, that allow a user to move the lateral and medial portions relative to each other.

  • Publication number: 20200085161
Abstract: A heat shield device includes a heat shield having a planar body, with a first portion forming a first or upper blade, and a second portion forming a second or lower blade. The heat shield can be a stand-alone device configured to fit over a comb, with the handle of the comb extending away from the heat shield. The heat shield device can also include a handle structure that has a handle that is integrally formed with a support structure on which the planar body of a heat shield is mounted.

  • Patent number: 10390599
Abstract: A hair gathering accessory can be formed as a comb or a brush device, and has a handle formed with a body. On one side of the body are a plurality of tines (e.g. comb teeth, brush bristles, etc.). On the other side of the body is a heat shield that is attached to the body and which extends away from the body some distance. The tines are used to gather a portion of hair while the hair gathering accessory is being held by a person, and the heat shield protects the person whose hair has been gathered from the heat of a hair iron that is applied to the gathered portion of hair.

  • Patent number: 9080433
Abstract: A cartridge assembly for use with a perforating system having a contact terminal that connects to a perforating signal line when inserted into a receptacle end of a perforating gun. A detonator may be included in an end of the cartridge assembly for initiating a detonating cord in the perforating gun. The cartridge assembly is a modular unit that replaces the manual connections made when assembling a string of perforating guns. The cartridge assembly may optionally include a controller switch for controlling current flow through the cartridge assembly.

  • Patent number: 8695506
Abstract: A perforating system having a perforating gun with shaped charges, a chassis sub, a communication line in communication with a controller and extending through the chassis sub and perforating gun, a selectively opened and closed continuity switch in the communication line, a lead line connecting the communication line to a detonator, and an arming switch in the lead line. A method of testing the detonator involves confirming electrical continuity through the detonator.
