    Abstract: A light bulb assembly includes a bulb housing that is configured to be connected to a light bulb socket. A light bulb is held by the bulb housing and includes a printed circuit board (PCB). The assembly includes an electrical connector having a connector housing, a negative terminal of the light bulb assembly, and a positive terminal of the light bulb assembly. The electrical connector is mounted to the PCB such that the positive terminal and the negative terminal are electrically connected to the PCB. The negative terminal is configured to mate with a corresponding negative terminal of the light bulb socket. The positive terminal is configured to mate with a corresponding positive terminal of the light bulb socket.

A housing holds the contact and includes a main body extending between a front and a rear. The housing has a mounting flange extending from the main body. The main body has a contact channel holding the contact and a wire barrel at the front configured to receive the wire. The rear of the main body is positionable on the circuit board such that the spring beam of the contact is aligned with the contact pad. A fastener is coupled to the mounting flange and is used to secure the housing to a substrate independent of the circuit board.

    Abstract: A relay connector assembly configured to electrically connect a power supply and a load includes a housing having a bottom configured to be mounted to a circuit board, the housing having contact cavities. Power contacts are received in corresponding contact cavities and held by the housing. The power contacts have relay tab ends and terminating ends having interfaces configured to be terminated to high current power conductors of either the power supply or the load. A relay is coupled to the housing. The relay has coil contacts configured to be electrically connected to a coil circuit of the circuit board used to energize the relay. The relay has relay tabs being terminated to the relay tab ends of corresponding power contacts. The relay electrically connects corresponding power contacts when the relay is energized.

The optic is positioned remotely from the LED so that a cavity is formed between the LED and the optic. The excitation light generated from the LED passes downstream through the cavity to the optic. Quantum dots are positioned on the optic. The excitation light excites the quantum dots so that the quantum dots produce emitted light having a second wavelength that is different than the first wavelength of the excitation light.

    Abstract: A lighting assembly for a light emitting diode (LED) package having an LED chip on the top of a mounting substrate with power leads on the top of the mounting substrate arranged proximate to a first edge of the mounting substrate, which is mounted to a base, includes power contacts defining separable interfaces for contacting the power leads on the mating substrate of the LED package and supplying power to the LED chip. The power contacts have compliant beams extending to the separable interfaces that are deflected when contacting the power leads such that the power contacts are biased against the power leads. The power contacts are terminated to corresponding power conductors opposite the separable interfaces. The lighting assembly also includes a dielectric housing holding the power contacts, with the housing having mounting features for securing the housing to the base independent of the LED package.

A second LED package may be provided, where the LED package is removable from the receptacle and is replaced by the second LED package.

Optionally, at least one of the socket housing and the thermal management structure may have mounting features configured to mount the socket assembly to a heat sink, where the lighting package is removable from the receptacle while the socket assembly remains mounted to the heat sink. The thermal management structure may be coupled to the socket housing such that the thermal management structure and the socket housing are coupled to a heat sink as a unit.
