  • Patent number: 6484125
Abstract: The mean number of elevator door reversals, &mgr;, in groups of related door reversals, and the standard deviation, &sgr;, from the mean, are used to determine the likelihood that door reversals are caused by passenger interference; the likelihood is low if a recent number of reversals exceeds &mgr;+3&sgr;, , is medium if two out of three recent reversals exceed &mgr;+2&sgr;, and otherwise is high. The floors at which related notable elevator features occur are compared to determine a floor factor, F, depending on whether the notable feature occurs only at one floor or at more than one floor.

  • Patent number: 5817993
Abstract: An elevator door reversal monitoring apparatus for monitoring an elevator door system comprises: a plurality of sensors for providing sensor signals; a door reversal state machine for providing door reversal data in response to the sensor signals; an output module for capturing the door reversal data; and an output processing module for determining a current state of the elevator door system in response to the captured door reversal data.

  • Patent number: 5760350
Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing an elevator door performance result of an elevator door in an elevator door system which normally operates sequentially from state-to-state in a closed loop sequential chain of normal operating states is disclosed. A plurality of parameter signals provided by the elevator door system is monitored by the apparatus. The apparatus comprises: a door state sequencer for providing a performance measure; a module for providing a reference measure and an acceptable range; and an abnormal detection module for analyzing the door performance measure.

  • Patent number: 5398782
Abstract: A remote elevator monitoring system includes a master associated with a building and a local connected to the master. The local includes an electronic processor which executes instructions for determining whether the master has transmitted a signal packet to the local within a time period selectable at will by an operator at the local. The time period is, for example, a period selected within a range of 0-255 days. Optionally, for example, the master is programmed to transmit a signal packet to the local at a selected time on the last day of the selected time period.
