  • Publication number: 20030107652
Abstract: A dental video camera includes a housing, a charge coupled device that is disposed within and slidably coupled to the elongated cavity of the housing at said proximal end thereof, a plurality of light emitting diodes that are optically coupled to the charge coupled device, a sleeve that is slidably coupled to the housing. The sleeve is able to move laterally back and forth and has achromatic lenses and fixed lenses. The sleeve engages the charge coupled device so that the sleeve laterally moves the charge coupled device back and forth in order to change the position of the charge coupled device with respect to the achromatic lenses and fixed lenses thereby changing the field of focus. A mechanism bi-directionally drives the sleeve laterally to produce back and forth lateral movements.

  • Patent number: 6079111
Abstract: A sight apparatus for an archery bow which compensates for both the distance to a target and the elevation of the target. The sight apparatus includes a range finder mechanism and a pendulous sight. The range mechanism and the pendulous sight are operatively connected such that the setting for the range to a target positions the pendulous axis. The pendulous sight has a sight element which is suspended from the corresponding pendulous axis to provide a point of aim at the target. The range mechanism includes an adjustment arm which is pivotable to a known or estimated distance. The range mechanism also includes a pair of bracketing pins wherein one of the bracketing pins is movable relative to the other bracketing pin along an arc shaped travel path for bracketing the target and providing a range setting determined from the size of the target.

  • Patent number: 5771067
Abstract: A dental video camera includes a housing which has an elongated cavity with a distal end and a proximal end, an adjustably focusing lens, a CCD camera system which is disposed within the elongated cavity of the housing, a fixed focusing lens system and an electrically adjustable iris. The adjustably focusing lens provides a focusing adjustment between a near field o:f focus and a far field of focus. The CCD camera system is optically coupled to the adjustably focusing lens and and is disposed in the elongated cavity of the housing adjacent to the distal end thereof. The electrically adjustable iris is optically coupled to the adjustably focusing lens and CCD camera system. The adjustable iris is adjusted between a nearly closed opening and a wide open opening in response to the focusing adjustment between the near field of focus and the far field of focus.

  • Patent number: 5508587
Abstract: An incandescent lamp includes a base, a first stiff lead-in wire and a second stiff lead-in wire, a connector, a filament and a non-opaque tubular envelope. The base is formed out of a non-conductive material. The first and second stiff lead-in wires, respectively, extend from the base. The connector is electrically coupled to the first and second stiff lead-in wires and mechanically coupled to the base. The filament has a first end and a second end which are electrically coupled to the first and second lead-in wires, respectively. The filament is formed out of a conductive wire in the shape which provides a radiation area which is similar to the illumination area of the bundle of optical fibers so that the radiation fills the illumination area within the geometric boundaries imposed. The non-opaque tubular envelope has an open end and a closed end and is mechanically coupled to the base at the open end. The base press-seals the non-opaque tubular envelope to form an enclosed chamber.

  • Patent number: 5124797
Abstract: A micro video imaging camera has a detachable distal module which is replaceable with one of different characteristics (e.g., angled), and sterilizable. Thus a non-replaceable CCD and video transmitter are connected to an inner body which comprises in effect a lens tube. The module comprises an outer body encasing the inner body which has a filter (optional) at its tip and a magnifying lens optically connected to an image conduit optical segment. The inner body receives the image conduit, the output of which is focused by the lens in the inner body on a CCD microprocessor. The model may be replaced with an angular distal end or lenses of different fields of view. Fiber optic light filaments may be used to illuminate the field of view of the tip of the module, either housed internally or externally of the inner body.
