    Abstract: A lens for implantation in the eye upon removal of the crystalline lens. The lens includes a light focusing body and one or more supports extending from the lens body. Each lens support carries a first magnetic fixation member positionable at one side of the iris. A second cooperable magnetic fixation member is positionable at the opposite side of the iris whereby a trans-iris magnetic retention force is exerted between the members to secure the lens in place without the requirement of sutures or incisions in the iris.
