  • Patent number: 4777694
Abstract: A cleaning appliance has a head portion 1 with a rearwardly projecting handle section 5, and presents at the front end opposed jaw members 2 and 3 between which a squeegee blade assembly 4, or another device such as a scraper blade or duster attachment, can be releasably clamped. The clamping arrangement comprises an operating level 8 disposed at a front upper surface 1a of the head portion 1 and positioned for single-handed operation by an operator using the thumb or forefinger of the hand in which the handle section is held.

  • Patent number: 4760433
Abstract: A protection circuit including complementary bipolar transistors having collectors connected to an input and base and emitters connected together to a respective voltage source. The bipolar transistors are lateral transistors having a field plate over the base region and spaced laterally from the laterally spaced collector and emitter regions. The base may include increased impurity surface regions extending from the emitter and collector to the gate to increase the beta and decrease the collector-base breakdown.

  • Patent number: 4757363
Abstract: An input resistor-diode protection circuit having an input resistor formed by a high impurity region within a deeper low impurity region, both a first conductivity type and input diode formed by the junction of the low impurity resistor region and the substrate along a substantial portion and a high impurity region overlapping the low impurity region at the output end of the resistor-diode circuit, both of a second conductivity type. A bipolar transistor connected to the output of the resistor in parallel to the diode also provides protection. A pair of concentric guard rings of first and second conductivity type laterally encompasses the input protection circuit.

  • Patent number: 4716619
Abstract: A mopping unit comprises a bucket, a wringer with two squeeze rollers mounted at the top of the bucket, and an operating mechanism to produce relative closing movement of the rollers. The operating mechanism comprises a foot pedal mounted at a lower level on the bucket and a toggle operating linkage operative on depression of the pedal to produce the relative closing movement of the rollers. At the end of the closing movement of the rollers the toggle linkage goes over-center to lock the rollers at a predetermined spacing in an operative mop-wringing position.

  • Patent number: 4673920
Abstract: A multistationed integrated life safety system in which each station will be situated at a diffferent location and have complete capabilities in terms of local fire protection, fire detection, control and/or monitoring and controlling the security of an area. Each station communicates with four adjacent stations so that when an event occurs at one station, that station is programmed to cause that information or that new status to be transmitted to each of the four adjacent stations. Thus, each station will be interconnected or networked to four other stations to provide multiple location control and annunciation so that each station may act independently.

  • Patent number: 4613772
Abstract: Current compensation for inverting logic gates is achieved by using a current mirror having a controlling leg equivalent to the input structure of the logic gate which is in the controlled leg. The controlling leg receives a reference voltage signal equal to the input signal to the logic gate which creates a leakage current. A plurality of controlled legs can be used with a single controlling leg to provide current compensation for a plurality of logic gates.

  • Patent number: 4031634
Abstract: A device employing audio and visual aids for the teaching of reading, arithmetic and the like. The device is to be used with cards having printed indicia and a magnetic strip. The device includes a housing having a microphone, a speaker and a chassis positioned therein. A card path extends across the housing and the chassis. Located on the chassis is a magnetic recording and reproducing head assembly capable of recording and reproducing that which has been recorded on two tracks on the magnetic strip. Separate drive systems are employed for forward and reverse and are also mounted on the chassis. A selector plate is pivotally mounted on the chassis and includes certain rollers associated with both the forward and reverse drive systems such that the selector plate may be pivoted to disengage the forward drive system and simultaneously engage the reverse drive system to return a card to its starting position.
