  • Patent number: 7679037
Abstract: A reconnaissance system includes a projectile having an opening through which images of a target area are acquired, a portable launcher having a mechanism for affixing the launcher to a rifle for launching the projectile to fly along and above the target area, an image acquiring device within the projectile for acquiring images of the target area through the opening, a transmitter within the projectile for transmitting during its flight the acquired images to a remote station, a stabilizing mechanism for stabilizing at least one of the projectile and the image acquiring device while flying in a ballistic trajectory above the target area and a remote station. The remote station includes a receiver for receiving the images transmitted from the projectile and a monitor having a display for displaying the received images.

  • Patent number: 7509886
Abstract: The invention relates to a mechanical structure which provides motion in six degrees of freedom, which comprises: (a) a main plate; (b) a base; (c) at least three supporting structures, each comprising a lower, bridge-like section supported by the base, and an upper section connected to said bridge section and to said main plate, wherein: (I) said bridge-like structure comprising two supporting plates, two intermediate plates, and one middle plate, all being serially connected one to another by means of four transversal hinges; (II) each pair of said supporting plates being slidable in linear displacement parallel to the base; (III) said upper section comprising two plates, a lower plate connected to said middle plate by means of a hinge transversal to said lower plate but longitudinal with respect to said middle plate, and an upper plate connected to said lower plate by means of a longitudinal hinge and to said main plate by means of a transversal hinge; (d) At least six linear motors connected each to a cor

  • Publication number: 20080196578
Abstract: A reconnaissance system that comprises a projectile (10) that has an opening (17) through which images of a target area can be acquired. The projectile (10) is launched from a portable launcher (30) towards the target area, and comprises image acquiring means (13, 14) for acquiring images of the target area through the opening (17) and for transmitting the images to a remote station (70); means for stabilizing the projectile (10) and/or the image acquiring means (13, 14) while flying in a nearly-parabolic trajectory above the target area; and a remote station (70), for receiving and displaying the transmitted images that comprises a monitor (71) for displaying the transmitted images.

  • Publication number: 20080006735
Abstract: A weapons system including a guided missile and a guidance mechanism, separate from the guided missile. The guided missile includes a seeker for producing signals indicative of a position of a target, and a steering mechanism for steering the guided missile. The guidance mechanism controls the steering mechanism, based on the signals, so as to steer the guided missile towards the target.

  • Patent number: 6961007
Abstract: A method for providing a pilot with information associated with at least one region of a field of view visible to the pilot from within a cockpit without requiring a visual display. The method includes the steps of determining an eye gaze direction relative to a given frame of reference for at least one eye of the pilot, determining a reference direction relative to the given frame of reference, comparing the eye gaze direction with the reference direction, and if the eve gaze direction and the reference direction are equal to within a given degree of accuracy, generating audio output audible to the pilot and indicative of information associated with the reference direction.
