Abstract: A liquid hair cosmetic composition comprising:(A) From about 0.1% by weight to about 10% by weight (acid basis) of a silicone-containing polycarboxylic acid copolymer having a vinyl polymeric backbone, and having grafted to the backbone a silicone-containing macromer having a weight average molecular weight of from about 1,000 to about 50,000. (B) A neutralizing system consisting essentially of sodium hydroxide present at a lever sufficient to neutralize at least about 25% of the acid groups on the silicone containing copolymer; (C) From about 0%-1.0% by weight of water; and (D) The balance comprising a carrier suitable for application to hair. The liquid hair cosmetic products have improved clarity and storage stability and demonstrate excellent hair styling benefits in addition to hair feel attributes and ease of removal and brush out.
