  • Patent number: 4173170
Abstract: This invention relates to firearms of the type disclosed in my prior U.S. Pat. No. 3,198,077, granted Aug. 3, 1965, in which the bolt does not turn and the action is locked by turning the receiver. The principal parts, such as floating ring receiver piston and ring power cylinder are made from cylindrical extruded metal tubing or metal rods. The combination of floating ring receiver piston, ring power cylinder and other incidental parts are used to form a new action for an automatic firearm. This new action consists of a floating ring receiver piston, barrel and ring power cylinder. The above-mentioned parts, the frame and breech block lend themselves to manufacture by the use of automatic lathe and screw machines.

  • Patent number: 4097177
Abstract: A drilling and turning power head with an externally threaded spindle adapted to support and feed a tool. The spindle is supported in a cylindrical sleeve by means of bearings and is driven by pulleys and belts from a power axle coupled to a motor. An internally threaded feed hub is mounted on the spindle along with a releasably connected drive hub and both are rotated at different speeds by V-belts from the power axle. Axial feed of the spindle is brought about by the difference in the speed of rotation of the two hubs. Retraction of the spindle is brought about simply by disconnecting the drive hub from the spindle.

  • Patent number: 4095507
Abstract: This invention relates to firearms of the type disclosed in my prior U.S. Pat. No. 3,424,053, granted Jan. 28, 1969, in which the principal parts such as actuating sleeve, receiver, frame and breechblock are made from cylindrical extruded metal tubing and metal rods. The combination of a cylindrical actuating sleeve, breechblock, frame, receiver, floating power cylinder, ratchet counter firing mechanism and other incidental parts are used to form a new action for automatic firearms. This new action consists of a cylindrical sleeve carrying a floating power cylinder and functioning as an extractor port seal, breechblock stop and to actuate the ratchet firing counter. The above-mentioned parts and the breechblock lend themselves to manufacture by the use of automatic lathes and screw machines. The use of an actuating sleeve and floating power cylinder results in a favorable mass ratio, which results in a reliable firearm.

  • Patent number: 4062426
Abstract: This invention consists of a structural element assembled from a three-dimensional cantilever beam with coupled flexural and torsional rigidity, and the combining into a cell of two or more of these elements. The cells shall be combined to take the place of helical compression and tension springs. The three-dimensional cantilever shall have an open section with top and bottom flanges parallel to the plan of the beam, the top and bottom flanges being connected with a web normal to the plan. The support end of the beam shall be hinged with a pin normal to the plan and passing through both top and bottom flanges and the support structure. The spring constant for this beam shall be varied by generating a bimoment in the flanges at the pinned end. These structural elements and cells can be economically made by any structural fabricator by welding together metal plates and structural members.
