  • Patent number: 10594914
Abstract: A paint-applied digital imaging system may include a plurality of small pixel devices each including a photodiode, a battery, and an antenna. The plurality of pixel devices may be suspended in a liquid dispersion medium, such as a transparent paint, and brushed or rolled onto an extended surface, such as a wall. Each photodiode collects light, charging its battery, which powers the antenna. The antenna transmits a signal indicating the intensity of light incident on the photodiode to a base station. The signals sent by the plurality of pixel devices are received by the base station and converted into a digital image.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 10, 2018
Date of Patent: March 17, 2020
    Assignee: The Boeing Company
Inventors: Ross Mitchell Blanton, Keith Daniel Humfeld

  • Patent number: 9434477
Abstract: Duct assembly apparatus for use with aircrafts and related methods are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a unitary ring and a duct having a longitudinal gap to define a first longitudinal edge and a second longitudinal edge. The first longitudinal edge moves relative to the second longitudinal edge to enable the unitary ring to be positioned over an outer surface of the duct. A splice strap overlaps the gap of the duct such that the splice strap fixes the first longitudinal edge relative to the second longitudinal edge when the unitary ring is positioned over the outer surface of the duct.

  • Patent number: 9365278
Abstract: An apparatus comprising an outer sleeve and an inner sleeve. The outer sleeve has a first channel with an inner wall with a first number of substantially planar surfaces. The inner sleeve has a second channel and an outer wall with a second number of substantially planar surfaces. The outer wall is configured to be received within the first channel. At least one of the second number of substantially planar surfaces on the outer wall of the inner sleeve is configured to slide against at least one of the first number of substantially planar surfaces.

  • Patent number: 7601300
Abstract: An integrated instrument processes fluid test samples using disposable test devices. The test devices are carried in a carrier. The instrument includes a vacuum station receiving the carrier for batch loading of the test devices with fluid samples to be tested. The user removes the carrier from the vacuum station and inserts it into a loading station of a separate carrier and test device processing subsystem. This subsystem includes a transport system moving the carrier through the instrument where various modules perform operations on the test devices, including sealing the test devices, loading the test devices into an incubation station, incubation of the test devices, test device reading, and test device disposal.
