  • Publication number: 20230257155
Abstract: The present application describes a thin-walled single-serve perishable food container configured to be economically manufactured from metal and useable by a consumer in the existing single-serve metal container, for example, a disposable single-serve metal yogurt cup. The thin-walled container has a top flange coupled to a bottom with a cylindrical wall and a conical sidewall that extends inwardly from the top flange, such that a diameter of the bottom is less than a diameter of the top flange. The thin-walled container may house other foods, such as ground or pulverized organic or synthetic powdered mixtures or dried food. The container may also have a cover or lid that hermetically seals the contents.

  • Publication number: 20230047517
Abstract: Various embodiments of a thin-walled metal container, such as a cup are described. The thin-walled metal cup includes a body with a tightly curled lip at the top end of the cup. The body includes a plurality of sections such that the diameter of the cup may be different at different places along the height of the cup. The thin-walled metal cup is designed to be light weight with a shape configured to facilitate grasping or holding the body of the cup.

  • Publication number: 20220242610
Abstract: A metal can with a monolithic laminated hermetic seal is provided. The lid and sidewall of a can each include a laminated layer bonded to an interior surface. The lid and sidewall of the can are rolled to form a double seam and mechanically seal the can. When the double seal is formed through the mechanical rolling process and before heating, a bi-laminate layer forms between the adjacent laminated interior surfaces. The bi-laminate layer is then heated, causing each laminate layer to melt and fuse with the adjacent laminate layer. This creates a monolithic laminate layer that fills gaps within the double seam to form a hermetic seal that is impervious to air, water, gas, liquids, and other fluids.

  • Publication number: 20200277100
Abstract: A tamper evident metal foil closure for a container which provides visual evidence of tampering in the form of damage to the metal foil (e.g. tearing) and evidence of temperature tampering of the metal foil when heat is used to remove and reseal the metal foil. Containers sealed with this novel metal foil closure make it more difficult to tamper with or remove the container contents and then return the container for a refund.

  • Publication number: 20160183585
Abstract: A system is provided for heating batches of sealed, metal cans containing a food product. The system includes a pressure chamber, an induction coil, a can support, a sealing device, a power supply, an air pressure source, and a drive. The pressure chamber has an opening. The induction coil is supported within the pressure chamber. The can support is for engaging and rotating a plurality of sealed, metal cans, at least a portion of the can support being movable through the opening from a first position outside of the chamber to a second position within the chamber adjacent to the induction coil and being rotatably supported within the chamber. The sealing device seals the pressure chamber when the can support is within the chamber. The power supply is coupled to the induction coil to energize the coil to apply an alternating current to the coil to induce a current into the metal cans which heats the food product of the metal cans.

  • Patent number: 9016511
Abstract: A temperature changing container includes a plurality of walls joined to form an enclosure which seals contents of the enclosure within the walls. One of the walls includes a depression extending into the enclosure. Upon activation, chemicals at least partially disposed within the depression change temperature.

  • Publication number: 20110011868
Abstract: A resealable container and/or resealable container end for foods such as beverages. The end includes an opening and a pull-tab closure which includes a plug for sealing the opening. The closure may be fabricated from a thermoplastic coated foil. A portion of the foil is formed as a cup located within the opening to include a lip to engage the edge of the opening or a grove which is engaged by the edge. A resilient material such a cured plastisol fills the cup and cooperates with the cup to form a plug. The thermoplastic hermetically seals the closure over the opening and a tab on the closure permits the user to remove the closure and plug from the opening. The plug can be reinserted into the opening after removal to reseal the opening with a generally fluid-tight seal.
