  • Patent number: 5322098
Abstract: A transfer system for flowable solids or particulates is described. The transfer system includes an air seal assembly having an upstream side and a downstream side. The air seal assembly is constructed such that an air pressure differential can be maintained between the opposite sides thereof, but particulate material can be transferred through the air seal assembly. The transferring system includes an arrangement for transporting flowable solid material to the upstream side of the air seal assembly, the transfer taking place within a moving airstream at a pressure of less than ambient. Also, the system includes an arrangement for transporting the flowable solid material from the downstream side of the air seal assembly, preferably under gravity influence and ambient pressure. The transfer system includes an articulated arm arrangement on which the air seal assembly is mounted, for convenience.

  • Patent number: 5163786
Abstract: A cyclone separator (20) for a pneumatic grain conveyor (10) includes a filter assembly (60) mounted in the upper end thereof. The filter assembly (60) includes a cylindrical casing (62) extending into the separator (20) with a screen (70) therein and an adjustable accelerator plate (84) which cleans an adjacent portion of the screen and distributes the collected dust and foreign particles on the remainder of the screen. A second filter assembly (90) is preferably connected between the air outlet of the separator (20) and air inlet of the blower (52) for further dust and foreign particle removal.

  • Patent number: 4913597
Abstract: A silencer (70) which is particularly adapted for use with a pneumatic grain conveyor (10) includes a housing (72) with an arrangement of internal baffles (78, 80 and 82) defining a serpentine flow path of increasing cross-sectional area between an inlet (74) and an outlet (76) which is self-cleaning and effects noise reduction without absorptive material that would otherwise quickly clog the silencer.

  • Patent number: 4846605
Abstract: A universal frame (80) which is particularly adapted for use with a pneumatic grain conveyor (10) includes an offset longitudinal tongue (16) and hitch (18) and structural members arranged in interconnected so as to provide a minimal outer periphery which in turn improves versatility and facilitates discharge of the grain into an adjacent trailer or truck.

  • Patent number: 4433946
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a folding mechanism for the discharge spout system (12) of a pneumatic conveyor (10). The folding mechanism includes a hinge mechanism (55) having an axis (66) which is skewed with respect to a plane perpendicular to the alignment axis (26) of lower and upper tubes (20, 22). Such a hinge mechanism (55) allows the upper portion of upper tube (22) to pass the lower portion of lower tube (20) while upper tube (22) is pivoting from an operational configuration to a transit configuration. An hydraulic cylinder (68) powers the pivotal movement of upper tube (22). An over-center locking mechanism (84) latches lower and upper tubes (20, 22) in the operational configuration.
