Abstract: A mobile communication device for communication and data transfer utilizing a satellite phone system including a module which replaces or supplements the battery of a satellite phone handset and includes an embedded micro-processor, a camera, a GPS unit, a compass, a mass storage device, a display screen and communication ports. The module is designed to transmit data and images without the need for additional software or other peripheral devices. The module is designed to completely enclose a satellite phone therein thereby providing environmental protection for the satellite phone.
