  • Patent number: 5921111
Abstract: There is a description of a device for the production of warp knitted fabrics which are being produced on one knitting machine having two separate and independent knitting areas. Each of the independent knitting area has at least one guide bar and at least one needle bar. The knitting areas are placed back-to-back so that the directions of the respective material pull-offs are outwardly from the machine away from each other. The needle bars and the guide bars are supported by a common machine frame which has been provided with a common drive serving both knitting areas. Thereby, a high productivity is obtained having a minimum of space and energy requirements and a low initial investment cost.

  • Patent number: 5850982
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for the winding of a knitted material web which is being delivered from a warp knitting machine to a material roll by using an axial drive which is being regulated by sensors which measure the tension in the material web. For the purpose of winding a knitted elastic material, a spreader roller is arranged adjacent to the run-on site of the web onto the material roll and is held there with a constant gap. In order to maintain an essentially constant gap between the spreader roller and the material roll, the spreader roller undergoes a relative shifting along a radial guide.

  • Patent number: 5176010
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring the amount of yarn withdrawn from a warp beam mounted on the frame of the warp beam knitting machine is disclosed. A support arm is mounted on the frame and a lever arm is pivotally mounted on the support arm. A pressure roll is supported on the lever arm and engages the yarn wound on the warp beam. The pressure roll is operatively connected to a signal generator which generates pulses representative of the length of yarn withdrawn from the warp beam. A limit switch is mounted on the support arm and is adapted for electrical connection to the main drive mechanism of the warp knitting machine. The limit switch has open and closed positions adapted for controlling operation of the knitting machine. When the switch is closed the knitting machine is operable.

  • Patent number: 5152158
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring and controlling the amount of yarn withdrawn from the warp beam of a warp knitting machine is disclosed. A pressure roll engages the yarn wound on the warp beam. The pressure roll drives a second drive roll connected to a signal generator for generating signals representative of the speed of yarn withdrawn from the warp beam. The signals preferably are evenly spaced yarn length pulses representing a measure of the length of yarn withdrawn from the warp beam. The pulses are transmitted to a controller circuit which compares the generated pulses with a predetermined knitting machine operating standard and generates a control signal to the warp beam drive mechanism for controlling rotation of the warp beam.

  • Patent number: 5148759
Abstract: An apparatus for threading a needle used in a sewing machine that forms a longitudinal seam in a tie. The needle has an open hook and a shank adjacent its pointed end. A thread gripper movable about two mutually perpendicular axes grips and loops the thread at least partially around the shank of the needle. The thread is received or threaded upon a retracting movement of the needle. In an alternative embodiment, a tined fork loops the thread about the needle.

  • Patent number: 5129342
Abstract: A device for feeding a tie stiffening or other article to the supporting table 2 of a sewing machine includes a container 19 for said articles provided above the supporting table 2. The container 19 has a window 21 which extends along its bottom and under which there is disposed a withdrawal device 6 with needles 27, 28 which sink in opposite directions into the currently lowest layer 22 of the stack, substantially transversely of the window, which layer, after the needles have sunk in, is withdrawn from the stack, turned through 180.degree. and deposited on the supporting table when the needles are pulled out. The withdrawal device is turned by means of a pair of pinions 10 which encounter a pair of stationary racks 11 during lowering.

  • Patent number: 5071044
Abstract: A device for folding a cut-out 3 e.g. for a necktie in a sewing machine having a supporting table 2 which has a slit 29 into which a cut-out 3 laid over the slit is pressed in use, includes a folding sword which is composed of folding bars 17 set in a row and which is arranged above the slit 29 in such a manner that when the folding sword enters the slit, the tie cut-out is folded around the folding sword, while as a result of the folding bars 17 descending into the slit to different depths, the edges of the tie cut-out to be sewn project from the slit 29 to a substantially constant height. The folding bars are each provided with displaceable stops 22 which can be locked on the folding bars and which, during the descent of the folding sword, run against an abutment 18 extending transversely over all the folding bars to define the particular depth to which each folding bar 17 descends.

  • Patent number: 4736602
Abstract: This invention relates to a warp knitting machine in which the knitting elements and each of the warp beams are driven by separate electric motors, powered from a common electrical network. An electric clutch is included in the drive connection between each warp beam and its electric motor and said clutch is energized by the same electric network which powers the electric motors. The electric clutch is energized when electric current is supplied to it by the network and connects the warp beams with their own electric motors. Whenever the electric current in the network is interrupted, the electric clutch is disengaged.
