  • Publication number: 20160333304
Abstract: A fluid treatment module comprises a fluid inlet for non-treated fluid and a fluid outlet for treated fluid, a fluid treatment element comprising a body of a fluid treatment medium with first and second faces positioned at opposite sides of the body, the body comprising channels extending from the first face to the second face; channels of a first type open at one end at the first face and closed at the other end adjacent the second face; channels of a second type open at one end at the second face, and closed at the other end adjacent the first face, wherein channels of the first type are separated from channels of the second type by the treatment medium, one of the types of channels receiving non-treated fluid and communicating with the inlet, the other one of the types of channels collecting treated fluid and communicating with the outlet.

  • Publication number: 20040089601
Abstract: The invention relates to a wet-strength filter, especially a depth filter with a high swelling capacity, comprising an open-pored filter matrix containing cellulose fibers and having cavities, the cellulose fibers having chemically bonded polyisocyanate on the surface. Preferably, the filter matrix contains finely dispersed microparticles in its cavities. The invention also relates to a method for producing a filter of this type and to the use thereof in the food, beverages and pharmaceutical industries.

  • Publication number: 20010020306
Abstract: A process and a device for producing filtration-active fibers is described. An aqueous suspension is produced from a homopolymer of polyacrylonitrile, polyamide or cellulose acetate and the suspension is heated in a tank to a temperature T which is at least 60° above the boiling point of the water and at least 30° C. below the softening temperature of the polymer. The at least plasticized polymer mass which has been obtained in this way is discharged through at least one nozzle means at least using the autogenous pressure of superheated water. The device calls for that the suspension is prepared in a storage tank, that a mixing tank is connected to the storage tank and is made for heating an aqueous polymer suspension under pressure, and that furthermore there is a nozzle means for discharge of the plasticized polymer mass located at the output of the mixing tank.

  • Patent number: 5868973
Abstract: The disclosure is a more economical process for producing fibrets of superior quality by directing a dope comprising a cellulose derivative and a suitable solvent therefor into a coagulant and exposing it there to a shearing field to coagulate of the dope and form the fibrets. The fibrets, the solvent and the coagulant are then separated off. The suspension formed from the dope and the coagulant is alternately accelerated and decelerated in the shearing field at least once, preferably at least twice. This makes it possible to maintain a high average degree of turbulence over a long distance, so that a dope of high viscosity can be processed. In the apparatus for producing fibrets, the at least one nozzle (46-49) is disposed within a dispersing facility (40) comprising rotor (44) and stator (43, 45) and further comprising at least two sprockets (50-53), of which at least one sprocket (50) is part of the rotor (44) of the dispersing facility (40).

  • Patent number: 5554287
Abstract: A filter material forming a filter layer consisting substantially exclusively of celluloses and cellulose derivatives. In addition to cellulose acetate fibers, the filter layer contains, in the form of additives, microcrystalline cellulose and microfine cellulose, or else microcrystalline cellulose only. The amount of microcrystalline cellulose can be as high as 70% of the weight of the filter layer and that of microfine cellulose up to 50% of the weight of the filter layer. Cellulose acetate fibers can be excluded if in their place, microcrystalline cellulose having particle sizes less than 10 .mu.m. are used. The manufacturing method provides for cellulose acetate fibers to be first mixed in a wet state with microfine cellulose and microcrystalline cellulose, after which differently prepared celluloses are admixed. The mash formed by mixing is formed into a fleece by means of a known felting method, and the fleece is subsequently dried.
