Abstract: A shaped article, in particular a support for image information layers prepared from a biaxially stretched film prepared from a polymer blend of 50 to 97 wt.% of a linear polyester and 3 to 50 wt.% of a polymer containing styrene, wherein the percentages relate to the sum of polyester and polymer containing styrene, is characterised by particularly-elevated covering power.

Abstract: A transparent thermoplastic molding composition containing:A) 30 to 94% of a thermoplastic polycarbonates based on 2,2-bis-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-propane, andB) 6 to 70% of a resin-like vinyl polymer which contains structural units corresponding to formula (Ia) ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 is H or CH.sub.3,R.sup.2 is C.sub.1-4 alkylene andR.sup.3 is C.sub.1-4 alkyl,is disclosed. The composition is particularly suitable for the preparation of optical storage media.

Abstract: The invention relates to compatible polymer mixtures of a polyamide and a special vinyl monomer containing copolymerized structural units of the bisphenol derivative type. The new mixtures are suitable for the production of thermoplastic molding compounds.

Abstract: 37 Highly dispersed mixtures of at least two polymers which are not completely miscible in the melt under customary conditions are produced by melting the polymers used in the presence of supercritical gases or mixtures of gases, intensively thoroughly mixing the molten polymers for long enough until the viscosity of the melt has diminished by at least 10%, subsequently cooling the polymer melt with further thorough mixing, until the viscosity of the melt has at least reached the original value again and then depressurizing the polymer melt. The highly dispersed mixtures produced in this way can be processed in the customary manner into mouldings.
