Abstract: The invention relates to a device (1) for producing a pulp web (3), comprising an impingement drying system (5) with a first elongated impingement drying unit (7) and a second elongated impingement drying unit (9) lying adjacent to the first unit. The longitudinal axes (L) of the first and second impingement drying units (7, 9) run at an angle of inclination of 35°-55°, preferably 40°-50° and especially preferably approximately 45° in relation to a horizontal plane (HE) and the respective longitudinal directions (L) of the first and second impingement drying units (7, 9) run vertically and horizontally in opposite directions starting from their respective front sections (31, 33), or the respective longitudinal directions (L) run vertically in opposite directions starting from their respective front sections (31, 33) and horizontally in the same direction.

Abstract: A device for drying a paper web has a drying drum mounted at least partially inside a housing, whereby the cylinder wall of the drying drum is provided with a large number of apertures or openings so that hot air can flow through the cylinder wall, a heating device to generate hot air, a feed device to apply the hot air to the paper web, and a device to carry off the air containing moisture. In order to permit a compact design, the housing surrounds at least one hood which partly encloses a cylinder wall of the drying drum with the heating device being located inside the hood. Both the feed device and the heating device should be located preferably inside the hood.

Abstract: A material web drier containing a device for controlling the gas flow of a drying medium as a function of the actual state of the wet material web which is to be dried, comprising nozzle casings or surfaces containing blow-out or discharge openings arranged in cooperating relationship with respect to the material web. The discharge openings are directed towards the material web and serve for blowing-out the drying medium onto the web. For the purpose of dosing the gas flow or stream effluxing at the nozzle casings or surfaces, there are provided opening and closing elements which free the discharge openings or partially or completely close the same, as desired, whereby it is possible to vary the impingement of the material web by the drying medium selectively at discrete locations or regions thereof, both in the lengthwise and transverse directions of such material web.
