  • Patent number: 4476899
Abstract: A weaving machine is operationally connected to a shed-forming machine which includes a drive shaft and a braking mechanism. The latter includes a braking disk which is axially slidably supported on the drive shaft of the shed-forming machine. The braking disk can, during movement thereof, come into frictional engagement with a stationary counterpart. In an alternative embodiment, a modified pick-finding device is used as a brake. In the case of a halt of the weaving machine which is to be carried out quickly, for example during a thread break, the braking mechanism of the shed-forming machine is actuated to relieve the braking mechanism of the weaving machine, and thus no great braking action need be transmitted through the drive for the shed-forming machine.

  • Patent number: 4458725
Abstract: In a pick finder, a gear which is driven by a motor sits on a sleeve, which has thereon a tooth of a single-tooth coupling. For tensioning the return spring which effects engagement of the coupling, the gear has on the front side an annular control cam surface with recesses and cams, and rigid rollers can be brought into contact therewith through axial movement thereof with respect to the shaft. Based on the size and the placement of the respective rollers, engagement thereof with the cam surface on the gear rotated by the drive motor of the pick finder will move the sleeve into a position for pick finding or for slow-speed run of the weaving machine with the shed-forming machine. At the same time, the return spring is tensioned by the force of the motor.

  • Patent number: 4455246
Abstract: Heat insulation mixtures are employed both in the form of compacts and in the form of loose ballast. Heat insulating materials which contain an opacifier and thereby are impervious to the radiation which occurs possess extraordinarily good insulating activity. By using quartz powder of a specific particle size spectrum as opacifier, there can be attained optimal insulating properties preferred at high temperatures of use. This type of heat insulating material can be produced by mixing the individual components. It can contain known filler components and binders.

  • Patent number: 4412641
Abstract: A device for desoldering electronic components from circuit boards has a soldering nozzle which produces a solder wave that is directed from below the circuit board against the component to be desoldered; thereby dissolving previous solder bonds. The component can then be lifted out from above and suction is applied from below to the now-opened bores of the circuit board, to remove residual solder from them. A new component can then be installed, using the same equipment.

  • Patent number: 4371006
Abstract: A reading needle is slidingly supported in a force amplifying bar which is automatically moved up and down and the reading needle reads nonperforated and perforated points of a pattern card. In the case of a perforated point, a pivotal lock member biassed by a spring remains in a first position and pushes a draw arm of a correcting element downwardly unless this draw arm is already in a downward position. When the reading needle reads a nonperforated point, it is moved within the force amplifying bar by the pattern card during forward movement of the force amplifying bar. A sloped surface of a slot in the lock member slides over the head of the reading needle and swings the two-arm lock member to a second position in which one lock member arm reaches within the active range of an offset portion of a second draw arm and tilts the correcting element, whereby a cam surface of a draw hook is supported on an arm of the correcting element.

  • Patent number: 4367770
Abstract: A rotational dobby for use with weaving machines having plural heddle frames. The dobby has an eccentric disk for each heddle frame arranged side-by-side on a drive shaft with a coupling wedge movably installed therein, which coupling wedge effects a coupling and uncoupling of the eccentric disk relative to two recesses which are diametrically arranged on the shaft. A connecting rod is provided on the outer circumference of the eccentric disk and is coupled directly or through a rocking lever to an operating rod connected in turn to the heddle frame. A control mechanism is provided with pressure fingers which are movable in response to an information pattern on a pattern card.

  • Patent number: 4337239
Abstract: There is required titanium disulfide of high purity and stoichiometric composition as electrode material for certain types of batteries. With the known process for reacting preheated gaseous titanium tetrachloride with an excess of preheated gaseous hydrogen sulfide at 400.degree. to 600.degree. C., there is obtained a product which is not optimally usable. A titanium disulfide quality of higher purity and stoichiometry is obtained by forcing a deposition of the titanium disulfide on the inner walls of the reactor through regulating the temperature at the reactor walls and/or the residence time of the gaseous mixture. The titanium disulfide can be mechanically stripped off the walls and removed countercurrently to the waste gas stream from the reactor.

  • Patent number: 4305432
Abstract: A draw hook having a bearing end, the outside circumference of which projects beyond the end of the baulk and serves simultaneously as stop against the recoil or repulsion knife and the stop rail. The drawing force for the movement of the heddle frame occurs from the draw hook directly through the bolt onto the baulk. The reaction and the holding force act directly onto the bearing end of the draw hook.

  • Patent number: 4297143
Abstract: There is prepared pyrogenically produced silicon dioxide-mixed oxide having a BET surface area of 50 to 400 m.sup.2 /g which contains as a constituent of the mixed oxide:0.01 to 10 weight % zirconium dioxide or0.01 to 10 weight % iron oxide (ferric oxide) or0.01 to 9.9 weight % titanium dioxide.Because of the doping with the foreign oxide the silicon dioxide-mixed oxide is more temperature stable than the undoped silicon dioxide. The product can be used as thermal insulation either as unpressed material in free bulk form or as a compacted mixture.

  • Patent number: 4286990
Abstract: There is provided temperature stabilized pyrogenically produced aluminum oxide-mixed oxide having a BET surface area of 50 to 200 m.sup.2 /g which contains 0.5 to 20 weight % silicon dioxide as a constituent thereof. Because of the silicon dioxide constituent the aluminum oxide does not change into the .alpha.-Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 phase until 1350.degree. C. The temperature stabilized aluminum oxide-mixed oxide is suitable for the production of thermal insulation compositions.

  • Patent number: 4227553
Abstract: The invention relates to a weaving machine having plural heddle frames, into which heddles are threaded with a free floating characteristic or operational clearance onto thread rails. The heddles are arranged on the thread rails with the least possibility of movement and without a free floating capability during a portion of the heddle frame movement and with a free floating characteristic during the rest of the movement of the heddle frame to facilitate a self-alignment of the heddles with the warp threads. The free floating characteristic is initiated by periodically reducing the distance between the two thread rails.

  • Patent number: 4172475
Abstract: A weaving machine comprising a dobby and a Jacquard machine as the control members, wherein the dobby is controlled from a single pattern card in the Jacquard machine. Harness cords connect the Jacquard hooks to the heddles and to a movably supported member in the dobby. The coordinated movements of the Jacquard hooks will effect a simultaneous movement of the movably supported member in the dobby so that operations of the Jacquard machine in response to the information on the pattern card will simultaneously effect an operation of the dobby.

  • Patent number: 4154268
Abstract: A method for controlling the heddle movement in a shed-forming machine and apparatus for performing the method. Reading needles are moved into and out of engagement with a pattern card having perforated and nonperforated portions therein actively cooperating with the needles which are adapted to move toward and away therefrom. Power amplifying structure is provided for converting the control operations noted by the reading needles into mechanical movements effecting selected control of the heddles dependent upon the position of the reading needle relative to the pattern card. A lock member is movably supported on a bar and its movement is controlled by whether the reading needle is received into a perforated portion of the pattern card or whether it engages a nonperforated portion of the pattern card. A shifting of the locking member will result in a selected and simultaneous control of a correcting element to either lift a draw hook or lower same into and out of engagement with a draw knife.
