  • Patent number: 8505610
Abstract: A mold for casting in one piece of a tool with a working component of steel and a body of grey iron with an interconnection zone there between has a first model section corresponding to the working component and a second model section corresponding to the body. The model sections are in contact with one another along a contact plane which is horizontal and planar and which represents the interconnection zone. In a method for producing a mold for one piece casting of a tool with a working component of steel and a body of grey iron with an interconnection zone therebetween; a first model section is produced corresponding to the steel and a second model section corresponding to the grey iron. The model sections are brought into contact with one another with the contact surface horizontally aligned and with the first model section lowermost.

  • Publication number: 20120090803
Abstract: A process for production of compacted graphite iron using in-mould addition of a magnesium alloy is disclosed. The process is characterised by a step of pre-treating the base iron in a ladle or in a furnace with an alloy containing cerium and performing a structure forming treatment in a reaction chamber in the mould using an alloy containing magnesium and lanthanum.

  • Patent number: 7258832
Abstract: A device for processing iron alloys in a vessel is described. A reaction chamber for receiving at least one alloying material is arranged in the bottom of the vessel and a sprue of refractory material is arranged concentrically above the reaction chamber to form a gap between the lower end of the sprue and the upper delimitation of the reaction chamber.

  • Patent number: 6863114
Abstract: A gating system for adding an alloying material to a molten base metal in immediate connection with a casting process. The gating system has a runner having an inlet whose cross-sectional area is throttled, a reaction chamber whose sectional area varies along the height of the reaction chamber as a function of the teeming rate, and a pressure and mixing chamber which is connected after the reaction chamber and provided with a partition. This results in a constant alloying material content of the metal being obtained at a varying teeming rate during the casting process.

  • Publication number: 20030029595
Abstract: A gating system for adding an alloying material to a molten base metal in immediate connection with a casting process. The gating system has a runner (2) having an inlet (7) whose cross-sectional area is throttled, a reaction chamber (4) whose sectional area varies along the height of the reaction chamber (4) as a function of the teeming rate, and a pressure and mixing chamber (5) which is connected after the reaction chamber (4) and provided with a partition (9). This results in a constant alloying material content of the metal being obtained at a varying teeming rate during the casting process.
