Patent number: 6079720Abstract: A wagon assembly for use in gardening and lawn care comprises a wagon body structure which provides a main compartment. The main compartment accommodates the carriage of items and materials used in gardening and lawn care. A handle structure is pivotally connected to a forward end of the wagon body structure such that the handle structure moves between a stacking position and a range of operating positions. Wheel structures are rotatably connected to the wagon body structure and are constructed to enable the wagon assembly to be rolled manually by exerting force on the handle structure. Upwardly facing supporting surfaces are constructed and arranged to support a first similar wagon assembly aligned above the wagon assembly in a stable stacking and nesting relation with the handle structure of the wagon assembly in the stacking position such that portions of wheel structures of the first similar wagon assembly are disposed between upper peripheral edges of the wagon body structure.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1998Date of Patent: June 27, 2000Assignee: O. Ames Co.Inventors: Kenneth J. Spear, Rudy F Planthaber, Steven F. Brooker

Patent number: 5934314Abstract: The objective of the present invention is to provide a hose storage device that utilizes a supporting frame structure which is constructed and arranged to be nested on top of a similar supporting frame structure. The supporting frame structure is also constructed and arranged such that a similar supporting frame structure can be nested on top of the supporting frame structure. The hose storage device also has a hose reel structure having a surface for receiving a length of coiled hose thereon. The hose reel structure has generally circular end flanges. Also, the hose reel structure is rotatably mounted within the supporting frame structure. The aforementioned structures are constructed and arranged to allow a similar hose storage device to be stacked on top of the hose storage device with the supporting frame structure in a nesting relation with the supporting frame structure of the similar hose storage device.Type: GrantFiled: December 2, 1997Date of Patent: August 10, 1999Assignee: O. Ames Co.Inventors: Kenneth J. Spear, Rudy F. Planthaber, Eric D. Bennett, Steven F. Brooker

Patent number: 5876049Abstract: A wagon assembly for use in gardening and lawn care comprises a wagon body structure constructed and arranged to provide a main compartment. The main compartment is constructed and arranged to accommodate the carriage of items and materials used in gardening and lawn care. A handle structure has a pair of generally opposed surfaces. The handle structure is connected to a front end of the wagon body structure such that the handle structure can be moved between a seating position wherein the handle structure extends rearwardly with respect to the wagon body structure and a range of operating positions wherein the handle structure extends forwardly with respect to the wagon body structure. Wheel structures are rotatably connected to the wagon body structure and constructed and arranged to enable the wagon assembly to be rolled manually by exerting force on the handle structure in the operating positions.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 1998Date of Patent: March 2, 1999Assignee: O. Patent number: 5794649Abstract: The objective of the present invention is to provide a portable hose cart assembly capable of stacking, yet having circular hose reel end flanges. The portable hose cart assembly utilizes a supporting frame structure constructed and arranged to be nested on top of a similar supporting frame structure. The supporting frame structure is also constructed and arranged such that a similar supporting frame structure can be nested on top of the supporting frame structure. A hose reel structure for receiving and supporting a length of hose is rotatably mounted within the supporting frame structure. Circular end flanges are fixed to the ends of the hose reel structure. A handle structure movable between a stacking position and an operating position is connected to the supporting frame structure. The handle structure has a locking mechanism such that the handle structure may be secured in the operating position.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 1996Date of Patent: August 18, 1998Assignee: O. Ames Co.Inventors: Kenneth J. Spear, Steven F. Brooker, Rudy F. Planthaber, Eric D. Bennett
