  • Patent number: 11882400
Abstract: The present invention discloses directional loudspeaker at least comprising: a loudspeaker cabinet comprising: a folded horn with a length of minimum one quarter of a wavelength, ?, and the horn mouth opening is asymmetrically placed in a front baffle providing a physical delay between the different wraparound pathways to the rear side of the loudspeaker cabinet; one or more driver speakers loading the horn with an open rear chamber, the open rear chamber having at least two opening pathways with a distance there between providing a physical delay of a rear wave, the loudspeaker cabinet provides at least four pathways for in phase and out of phase signals, at least two pathways for the out of phase signal and at least two pathways for the in phase signal amplified by the horn.

  • Patent number: 10375474
Abstract: The disclosed technology relates to a microphone array. The array comprises a plurality of microphones with each microphone having a horn portion. Each microphone of the array further comprises an instrument disposed at a distal end of the horn portion. Each instrument of the array is configured to convert sound waves into an electrical signal. The microphone array further comprises a beamforming signal processing circuit electrically coupled to each instrument and configured to create a plurality of beam signals based on respective electrical signals.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 12, 2017
Date of Patent: August 6, 2019
    Assignee: CISCO TECHNOLOGY, INC.

  • Patent number: 9485587
Abstract: In one embodiment, a speaker device assembly includes a first voice coil assembly moveable along an axis of a magnetic field of a magnetic core responsive to an induced current to facilitate pressure variations in a medium, and cause recoil vibration on a speaker device assembly structure. The speaker device assembly further includes a second voice coil assembly having a counter balance mass that accounts for at least a mass of the first voice coil assembly, and moveable along the axis of the magnetic field in a direction opposite the first voice coil assembly to attenuate the recoil vibration on the speaker device assembly structure, when the first voice coil assembly moves along the axis of the magnetic field.

  • Patent number: 8953830
Abstract: A horn loudspeaker, in particular for reproducing bass sound in public address systems, in which the horn (23) is mounted directly to the driver element (21) without any intervening compression chamber. The back side of the driver element (21) is covered by a back chamber (24) designed with walls of a semi-permeable material. The walls may be perforated or made of a “leaky” material such as cell foam with open structure, or a fibrous material. The “leaky” back chamber will prevent the build up of high pressures in the back chamber at large cone excursions. The horn loudspeaker is suitable for stacking in groups of two or more, so as to produce a sound source scalable for reproducing any frequency range heard by humans in public address systems or hi-fi systems. Due to the back chamber design, the horn loudspeaker, for high frequencies especially in conical horn shaped versions, can be stacked close together.
