For example, a device may be configured to provide device registration and de-registration notifications to a cloud-based discovery service. The cloud-based discovery service may be configured to respond to discovery request by identifying registered devices that meet the criteria of the discovery request. The cloud-based discovery service may also be configured to provide endpoint information associated with registered devices in response to the discovery request, such that a device is able to utilize the endpoint information to connect with one or more of the registered devices.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to increasing engagement in conversations between users, and more particularly to providing an effect to a second user in response to use of an effect by a first user. In certain embodiments, two or more users may be having a conversation via a communication platform of an SNS. The conversation may be streaming (e.g., a video or audio call) or non-streaming (e.g., a message exchange). During the conversation, a first user may send a communication that includes content with a first effect applied thereto. Based on the communication, a second effect corresponding to the first effect may be identified for use by the second user in response to the communication. The second effect may then be provided to the second user so that the second user may use the second effect in response to the communication.

A media device on the network generates a signature indicative of a particular set of one or more services available for execution on the media device. The signature may be distributed on the network using beacon transmissions from the media device. A receiving media device compares the signature with previously stored service data which associates signatures with service sets. The stored service data may include a local signature indicative of a local service set. Determinations of a match result in the receiving media device using the previously stored data. Unmatched signatures may result in the receiving media device sending a request for service set data. The received service set data may then be used to provide service availability information. The received service set data and associated signature may be added to the stored service data.
