  • Patent number: 4457883
Abstract: In producing nylon yarns having latent crimp by the process disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 4,202,854, the polymer throughput (i.e. extrusion rate) is increased without sacrificing the amount of uniformity of the bulk resulting from development of the latent crimp by adding a nucleating agent, such as calcium fluoride, to the nylon prior to extrusion.
