  • Patent number: 6533461
Abstract: A thrust washer formed from metal sheet has a flat, ring-shaped thrust portion oriented radially, and at least one tab extending from an outer or inner perimeter of the thrust portion. The tab includes a radially oriented mid-portion and at least one wing-portion extending perpendicular to the mid-portion and parallel to the axis of the thrust portion such that a flat surface of the wing-portion can engage a recess of a backup member to prevent rotation of the thrust washer relative to the backup member. The tab is not symmetrical about a line along a diameter of the thrust portion.

  • Patent number: 6202446
Abstract: A vacuum system is disclosed for opposed engaged pairs of blow mold halves on a section of an I.S. machine. The system includes a bottom housing which is open at the top and closed by a top plate assembly including a top plate having a vertical opening for each of the opposed pairs of blow mold halves and an annular manifold support portion below the top plate. A vacuum manifold which has a cylindrical inlet conduit and a vertical outlet conduit beneath each of the top plate vertical openings is supported by the annular mold support portion. A vacuum tube slides into the cylindrical inlet conduit and is mounted on the annular manifold portion. The vacuum tube has a hole for communicating with each of the vacuum manifold vertical outlets.

  • Patent number: 6109063
Abstract: A mold opening and closing mechanism for a section of an I.S. machine includes a mold carrier assembly and horizontal axially extending shafts. A housing supports these shafts for axial displacement and includes first and second vertically extending ducts which terminate at their tops with a sleeve. A manifold assembly includes a manifold including a plenum which overlies each of the mold halves. A spacer secured beneath said frame and having vertically extending holes communicates with the downwardly opening exit of the plenum for delivering cooling air from the plenum to the vertical cooling air passages of the mold halves. The manifold includes a pair of horizontally extending cylindrical inlet holes A pair of cylindrical tubes are received by the cylindrical holes and first and second elbows connect a second end of each of the cylindrical tubes to the sleeves so that cooling air from the ducts will be delivered to the pair of tubes.
