  • Patent number: 7818783
Abstract: The global access control system and method presents a solution to synchronizing the physical access devices that federal agencies must try to meet Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 201 requirements. The method encompasses wire and wireless technology, IP Security (IPSec), the assignment of IPv6 addresses to every device, integrating with logical access control systems, and providing a homogeneous audit and control format. As part of FIPS 201, Government identification badges (Personal Identity Verification (PIV) cards) will include an IPv6 address that uniquely identifies every card holder. By assigning an IPv6 address to every access device and using the card holder's IPv6 address, every access device can be used for global access control. Moreover, common and interoperable audit records throughout an entire enterprise (logical and physical) are possible.

  • Patent number: 7813713
Abstract: The first responder communication system provides a digitally signed data object identifying first responders. Utilizing the digitally signed data object, a mobile cellular switching system (MCS), has a call completion protocol to verify first responder call status and permit the connection to queue. Upon emergency declaration, non-first responders are denied access to the system. The digitally signed object may be provided by a PIV card interfaced to the wireless cellular telephone. The digitally signed object is released from the PIV after a user enters a PIN using a key pad of the cellular telephone. After the valid digitally signed object has been transmitted, continued priority cell phone operations is provided for the validity time period even though the PIV has been removed from the cell phone interface.

  • Patent number: 7191707
Abstract: The spherical rolling explosive ordnance is a bomb having a substantially spherical shaped structure that includes a hard outer shell and a shock absorbing outer layer. The spherical shaped structure has a hollow inner core that is symmetrically disposed about an axial center of the structure. Within the hollow inner core are a plurality of mutually orthogonal motion sensors and a computing device. The sensors are electrically coupled to the computing device which accepts sensor outputs to process a plurality of motion profile samples. An explosive charge is distributed between the shell and the core. A fuse mechanism within the explosive charge is electrically coupled to a primary arming device. The primary arming device is armed responsive to the predetermined criteria of the motion profile samples. Arming the arming device causes the fuse to be ignited to provide detonation of the ordnance device.
