  • Patent number: 6101954
Abstract: A worktop and frame construction which utilizes a frame body that forms a generally flat, relatively thick panel that has an hour-glass shape in plan view so that in the center of the frame body clearance is provided for knees of a user of the worktop. The frame body is supported on legs that are assembled without using tools by having tapered sockets and mating tapers at the ends of the legs that tightly and securely fit into the tapered sockets. The workstation parts can be easily assembled on site. The frame body is a sandwich construction which has peripheral frame members that form outwardly opening raceways for wiring.

  • Patent number: 6062149
Abstract: A modular table assembly utilizes an X frame as a main component for mounting worktops, and has connectors for joining one X frame to another X frame for modularity purposes. Tubular splicer tubes are used for mounting components, such as cabinets or shelves above the worktop. A vertically adjustably clamp assembly is utilized for supporting arms that can be pivoted and which can form supports for monitors or keyboards or the like. The tubular legs supporting the X frame members are clamped securely to the tubular frame members using insert caps in the ends of the tubular frame members so clamps can be tightened securely without crushing the frame members.

  • Patent number: 5901513
Abstract: A modular work station has spaced uprights that support a work surface, and a divider panel extending between the uprights. A communication cable channel extends between the uprights and has a passageway accessible for laying in a communication or other type of cable. At least one of the uprights has a recess that opens to an edge of the upright and aligns with the passageway in the communication cable channel such that a communication cable can extend through the recess to an adjacent modular work station. A cover member covers the opening in the upright channel to ensure that the cable is enclosed and yet can be laid in without threading it through openings in such uprights.

  • Patent number: 5544593
Abstract: A desk top system which has a basic superstructure upright that permits attaching cantilevered supports for supporting desk tops, pedestals, and the like so that they can be adjusted easily and conveniently relative to one another. The pedestals can be removed if the pedestals interfere with the movement of the feet of a user when the desk tops are supported adequately in other manners. The superstructures permit back to back mounting of cabinets, desk tops and the like. The units thus have great versatility and adjustability for providing desk space for users.

  • Patent number: 5339585
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for separating a portion of a wall that defines a raceway beneath a divider wall panel from the divider wall panel. The apparatus includes a swivel spacer leg seating member and a swivel spacer leg. A portion of the swivel spacer leg is offset, which allows a device such as an electric power distribution system to be mounted in the raceway with the spacer leg. The spacer leg seats in the swivel spacer leg seating member and swivels to allow the device to mounted in the raceway in a desired orientation.
