  • Publication number: 20160152579
Abstract: The present invention relates to a family of differently substituted oxazolidinones and to the pharmaceutically acceptable salts, esters, prodrugs, tautomers, solvates and hydrates thereof, which show affinity for the alpha and gamma subtypes of the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPAR) and which, therefore, modulate the actions regulated by said receptors, such as inducing satiety, controlling ingestion and modulating metabolic effects, and thus are useful for the administration thereof as a pharmacological tool and as drugs for the treatment and/or prevention of metabolic diseases and cardiovascular diseases.

  • Publication number: 20120037618
Abstract: A kitchen container (10) is made of a flexible material fit for culinary applications, such as a silicone elastomer, and it has the shape of a bowl with a base (11), a perimetric wall (12) and a perimetric rim (13) that forms an upper opening. The perimetric wall (12) is flexible enough to allow first and second opposite sides (12a, 12b) thereof to be bent towards each other, and they are provided with fastening elements (14, 15) to fasten said first and second opposite sides (12a, 12b) of the perimetric wall (12) to each other in such a position that portions of the first and second sides (12a, 12b) of the perimetric wall (12) overlap each other and said perimetric rim (13) forms two opposite openings separated by said overlapping portions. In the bent, fastened position, it is useful for cooking in a microwave and a conventional oven.

  • Patent number: 7470237
Abstract: The present invention provides a biopsy instrument with improved needle penetration for piercing dense tissue. The device may comprise a needle slidably retained in a housing. The device may further comprise an actuation member that may be adapted to communicate longitudinal motion to the needle in a first direction. The device may further include a propulsion element that provides the needle with return motion in a second direction. The device may be fired multiple times to create repeating reciprocal motion. In one version, the device may reciprocate several times as a result of a single engagement of the actuation member.
