Publication number: 20210370634Abstract: A fitting attachable to a cross-laminated panel provides a chase, plumbing space, airflow duct, or wiring route on an edge of the cross-laminated panel. The fitting may run between edges of multiple cross-laminated panels that contain integral hollow members, forming a customizable network of contiguous coplanar routing paths, accessible without installing pipes and wires behind, or in front of the cross-laminated panels. The fitting may also provide a vertical chase for single or multiple cross-laminated panels. The fitting takes advantage of one or more hollow members in the cross-laminated panels to provide contiguous routing paths for wires, pipes, and venting within the cross-laminated panels themselves, extending across any layout of multiple cross-laminated panels. The fitting may additionally serve as mechanical support for attachment of adjacent panels. Further, the fitting may provide structural connection for the CLT panels as required to meet structural code requirements for the building.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 10, 2021Publication date: December 2, 2021Applicant: Four Sided Solutions LLCInventors: Tyler Valentine Kuhn, Michael Ryan Bradley, Michael J. Publication number: 20210056473Abstract: A method for managing a modular product life cycle is described. A central computing device or system receives inputs representative of one or more of: an expected product life cycle, a market demand for the product, a manufacturing process for the product, a reverse manufacturing process for the product, and one or more technical engineering constraints associated with the product. From this information, a first modular product design is determined. Later in the life cycle of the modular product a second plurality of inputs representative of one or more of: a market demand, a manufacturing process, a reverse manufacturing process, and one or more technical engineering constraints are retrieved. From this information, a second modular product design is determined.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 20, 2020Publication date: February 25, 2021Inventors: Ibrahim S. Jawahir, Ryan Bradley

Publication number: 20200265120Abstract: In implementations of prefabricated building components based on municipal and county codes, a housing design requirement describing a limitation on a dimension of a housing feature is identified. A housing design of a house is generated to comply with the identified limitation on the dimension, and the housing design is configured to be manufactured using a prefabricated component. The housing design is refined by adjusting design dimensions based on stock dimensions of subcomponents of the prefabricated component, and a refined housing design is generated based on the adjustments to the design dimensions.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 15, 2019Publication date: August 20, 2020Applicant: Prefabricated Building Components, LLCInventors: Edward Joseph Bruya, Michael Ryan Bradley

Patent number: 10662384Abstract: The present invention is generally related to the analysis of chemical compositions of hydrocarbons and hydrocarbon blends. This method applies specifically to the problem of analyzing extremely complex hydrocarbon-containing mixtures when the number and diversity of molecules makes it impossible to realistically identify and quantify them individually in a reasonable timeframe and cost. The advantage to this method over prior art is the ability to separate and identify chemical constituents and solvent fractions based on their solvent-solubility characteristics, their high performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) adsorption and desorption behaviors, and their interactions with stationary phases; and subsequently identify and quantify them at least partially using various combinations of non-destructive HPLC, destructive HPLC, and stand-alone detectors presently not routinely used for HPLC but reconfigured to obtain spectra on the fly.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 2018Date of Patent: May 26, 2020Assignee: The University of Wyoming Research CorporationInventors: Joseph F. Rovani, Jr., Jeramie Joseph Adams, Ryan Bradley Boysen, Jean-Pascal Planche, Nicholas David Bolton

Patent number: 10449502Abstract: The present invention is generally related to the analysis of chemical compositions of hydrocarbons and hydrocarbon blends. This method, in particular embodiments, may apply specifically to the problem of analyzing extremely complex hydrocarbon-containing mixtures when the number and diversity of molecules makes it extremely difficult or impossible to realistically identify and quantify them individually in a reasonable timeframe. Particular SEC (size exclusion chromatography)-based methods and apparatus disclosed herein may be used to measure, e.g., the molecular size, weight, and/or volume, whether in absolute or relative manner, of the various components of eluate from the SEC stationary phase (e.g., a permeable gel). This analytical method is applicable on a wide variety of hydrocarbonaceous materials, and especially useful for, but not limited to oil, maltenes of oil, asphalt binders and asphalt binder blends, which may contain wide varieties of different types of additives, modifiers, and chemistries.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 2018Date of Patent: October 22, 2019Assignee: The University of Wyoming Research CorporateionInventors: Joseph F. Patent number: 10286846Abstract: A linkage mechanism associated with a handrail assembly of a machine is provided. The handrail assembly is coupled to an operator platform. The handrail assembly includes a first handrail member coupled to the frame. The linkage mechanism connects the first handrail member to the frame such that the first handrail member can be pivotally moved between an extended position and a retracted position. The linkage mechanism includes a first bracket and a pair of linkage members. The first bracket is coupled to the frame. The pair of linkage members pivotally connect the first bracket with the first handrail member. The first bracket, the pair of linkage members and the first handrail member together form a four-bar linkage. Further, a spring biased latching mechanism is configured to retain the handrail assembly in a retracted or an extended position.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 2018Date of Patent: May 14, 2019Assignee: Caterpillar Paving Products Inc.Inventors: Tim Lindholm, Ryan Bradley Fletcher
