  • Publication number: 20170137122
Abstract: A drive system for a tiltrotor aircraft includes a first gearbox rotatably mounted to the airframe and rotatable about a longitudinal axis to operate the tiltrotor aircraft between helicopter and airplane modes. A second gearbox extends generally normal to the longitudinal axis of the first gearbox. A common shaft, rotatable about the longitudinal axis, transfers torque from an output gear of the second gearbox to an input gear of the first gearbox. A support assembly couples the second gearbox to the airframe and includes a fixed joint proximate the longitudinal axis, a first directional reacting joint remote from the longitudinal axis providing a first radial growth degree of freedom to the second gearbox and a second directional reacting joint remote from the longitudinal axis providing a second radial growth degree of freedom to the second gearbox that is not parallel with the first radial growth degree of freedom.

  • Patent number: 9500454
Abstract: A new mortar projectile for use to resupply various payloads to distant troops. The mortar projectile has the capability of rapidly and accurately transporting the payloads to forward disposed combatants without interference of terrain or enemy action. The mortar projectile includes a shell body for housing the payload to be delivered, and a GPS-guided parafoil for delivering the payload to the designated remote target location.

  • Publication number: 20160051857
Abstract: A variable grip exercise bar is provided. The bar provides for a variety of gripping positions allowing a weightlifter to change gripping positions and accomplish a more thorough, varied work out with one weightlifting exercise bar as opposed to multiple weightlifting exercise bars and accessories.

  • Publication number: 20150145966
Abstract: A system and method for corrected imaging including an optical camera that captures at least one optical image of an area of interest, a depth sensor that captures at least one depth map of the area of interest, and circuitry that correlates depth information of the at least one depth map to the at least one optical image to generate a depth image, corrects the at least one optical image by applying a model to address alteration in the respective at least one optical image, the model using information from the depth image, and outputs the corrected at least one optical image for display in 2D and/or as a 3D surface.

  • Publication number: 20140222023
Abstract: The present disclosure describes a method and system for performing robot-assisted surgical procedures. The system includes a robotic arm system assembly, an end effector assembly, and a hybrid control mechanism for robotic surgery. The robotic arm is a lightweight, bedside robot with a large range of motion, which can be easily manipulated to position endoscope and surgical instruments. The control console is mounted at the distal end of the robotic arm to enable robotic arm to follow operators arm movement, provide physical support, filter out hand tremor, and constrain motion. A universal adapter is also described as an interface to connect traditional laparoscopic tools to the robotic arm.

  • Patent number: 7236910
Abstract: A process for gathering data from a plurality of users at remote terminals connected to a central database that restricts the data entered into the central database by providing users with predefined responses to scripted prompts and screening the new data entered into the central database for erroneous responses by comparing the data with existing data through a series of rules. In an alternate embodiment, the present invention includes a process for gathering and analyzing information that includes maintaining a central database, accessing the central database from a remote terminal through an interface, entering information into the central database through the interface, validating the entered information against a set of rules and analyzing the validated information to generate performance indicators for the equipment placed into service. The interface preferably restricts the information entering the central database to a controlled group of responses to a series of scripted prompts.
