Patent number: 10154837Abstract: A method and apparatus for surgically repairing a tear in soft tissue is disclosed. A plurality of collapsible tubes are positioned about the suture. The collapsible tubes are pushed through soft tissue and orthopedic mesh on opposite sides of a tear in soft tissue. When tension is applied to the suture, the tubes are compressed to fix the suture to the soft tissue and draw the soft tissue portions together.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 2015Date of Patent: December 18, 2018Assignee: Biomet Sports Medicine, LLCInventors: Kevin T. Stone, Gregory J. Denham, Ryan Harper, Ryan A. Kaiser

Patent number: 9357836Abstract: An apparatus for cleaning of tubular threads having adjustable spacing brushes to accommodate tubulars of different diameters. A plurality of brushes are rotated in a drum, which fits over the tubular connection. The brushes are mounted on L-shaped brackets, which are in turn mounted to a rotary driver by a shaft extending through slots in the brackets. By loosening the attachment of the brackets on the rotary driver, the brackets can be slid radially inward or outward to the extent of the slots, thereby adjusting the diameter of the threads that can be cleaned. The front access plate and seal plate, through which the tubular extends into the drum, are preferably held to the drum by hand operable latches. Solvent may be injected into the drum and onto the threads by a hand pump, and captured in the drum and drained into a container for disposal or reuse.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 2014Date of Patent: June 7, 2016Assignee: STI, LLCInventors: Anthony John Edmond, Ryan Harper, David Stelly

Publication number: 20160100936Abstract: A system for graft fixation including ACL graft reconstruction and fixation is presented. The system may comprise a loop fixation device for retaining a tissue graft. The loop fixation device may comprise a graft retention portion and a cortical fixation portion to allow the loop fixation device to rest on the cortical portion of a bone. A tissue graft may pass through a bone tunnel and engage the loop fixation device preventing withdraw of the tissue graft back through the bone tunnel. The system may also include graft fixation within a bone tunnel using a sleeve, or tube construct, with a fixation member, or screw, to engage a tissue graft within the sleeve.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 17, 2015Publication date: April 14, 2016Inventors: Brad Anthony Niese, Eric Wall, Yi-Meng Yen, Jeffery D. Arnett, Allen F. Anderson, Mininder Kocher, Theodore J. Ganley, Rebekah Koch, Dylan Matthew Hushka, Ryan Harper

Patent number: 8819677Abstract: A system includes a processor providing hardware virtualization, and a memory to store a first virtual machine data structure corresponding to a first nested virtualization level and a second virtual machine data structure corresponding to a second nested virtualization level. The virtual machine data structures assist management of the hardware virtualization provided by the processor. The system includes a first nested virtual machine located within the first nested virtualization level and a second nested virtual machine located within the second nested virtualization level. The system includes hypervisors to manage the nested virtual machines using the virtual machine data structures. A root hypervisor is to manage the first nested virtual machine using the first virtual machine data structure. A first nested virtualization level hypervisor is to run within the first nested virtual machine and is to manage the second nested virtual machine using the second virtual machine data structure.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 2010Date of Patent: August 26, 2014Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Michael D. Patent number: 8479199Abstract: A virtualization architecture for improving the performance of nested virtualization in a computer system. A virtualization instruction reads or writes data in a control structure used by a virtual machine monitor (VMM) to maintain state on a virtual machine (VM) to support transitions between a root mode of operation of a CPU in which the VMM executes and a non-root mode of operation of the CPU in which the VM executes. A privileged data access is made to a primary control structure according to the virtualization instruction if the CPU is in the root mode. A non-privileged data access is made to a secondary control structure according to the virtualization instruction if the CPU is in the non-root mode and a secondary control structure field in the primary control structure is enabled.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 2012Date of Patent: July 2, 2013Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Michael D. Day, II, Ryan A. Harper, Anthony N. Liguori
