  • Patent number: 11958107
Abstract: A continuous casting machine is provided that includes a refractory tundish funnel. The tundish funnel has a tapered shape and is designed to sit on a tundish lid in order to channel steel from the ladle to the tundish bath. A collector can also be provided to channel the steel from the ladle. The collector has an opening with a cross-section that transitions from a cylindrical shape to a cross-shape.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 9, 2017
Date of Patent: April 16, 2024
    Assignee: Cleveland-Cliffs Steel Properties Inc.
Inventors: Michael Ryan Hartley, Ken Morales Higa
  • Patent number: 11573155
Abstract: A method of using a burner-based exhaust replication system to generate exhaust that contains nitrogen dioxide (NO2). An example of such as system is a system used to test automotive exhaust aftertreatment devices. A fluid that decomposes to generate NO2 as one of its decomposition products is selected. The fluid is heated thereby generating NO2, with the amount and duration of heating is controlled to result in a desired decomposition extent of NO2 from the fluid. The fluid is then delivered to an exhaust stream of the system.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: February 7, 2023
    Assignee: Southwest Research Institute
Inventors: Ryan Hartley, Robert T. Henderson, III, Cary Henry
  • Patent number: 11541380
Abstract: Superhydrophobic coatings to reduce deposit formation of diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) within selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems.

  • Publication number: 20220383639
Abstract: A system and method are described, for automatically analyzing and understanding individual and group activities and interactions. The method includes receiving at least one image from a video of a scene showing one or more individual objects or humans at a given time; applying at least one machine learning or artificial intelligence technique to automatically learn a spatial, temporal or a spatio-temporal informative representation of the image and video content for activity recognition; and identifying and analyzing individual and group activities in the scene.
