  • Publication number: 20070123326
Abstract: A system and method for limiting crop loss when harvesting on sloped or rolling ground by adjusting the chaffer and/or sieve, or longitudinal sections thereof, so as to overcompensate for the ground slope so that the chaffer and/or sieve sections are actually inclined away from horizontal opposite the direction of ground slope at a selected angle. Such overcompensation increases crop harvesting efficiencies over systems that simply work to level the chaffer and/or sieve sections, without the high expenses associated with a combine having a pivoting axle.

  • Publication number: 20070072660
Abstract: A new and improved conveyor feeder house chain slat having a unique shape and structure that provides sufficient structural rigidity to improve crop throughput while reducing clogging of crop material. The unique slat also provides additional support to the chain. Because the chain rides on the rear of the elongated section of the slat, the slat contacts the feed house, rather than the chain, reducing chain wear, overheating and lubricant evacuation. Because of the new slat configuration, the slats can be secured to the chain with removable securing means, enabling easier replacement of an individual slat if necessary.

  • Publication number: 20060189361
Abstract: A rotor, in an agricultural harvester crop processing unit, comprising a drum to which crop processing elements for an infeed section and a threshing section are affixed. The drum comprises a rearward cylindrical portion and a forwardly extending frusto-conical portion. The frusto-conical portion is divided into an aft-region adjacent to the rearward cylindrical portion of the drum, and a fore-region. The infeed section has at least one infeed element located on the fore-region of the frusto-conical portion of the drum. The crop processing section has at least one crop processing element located on the aft-region of the frusto-conical portion of the drum.

  • Publication number: 20050194473
Abstract: A work vehicle having a fluent material spreader comprising two counter-rotating variable speed impellers adapted to receive and broadcast fluent material. A right-side impeller broadcasts out to a right-side material broadcast width, and left-side impeller broadcasts out to a left-side material broadcast width. Rotational speed of the right-side impeller is commanded to achieve a desired a right-side material broadcast width, and rotational speed of the left-side impeller is commanded to achieve a desired a left-side material broadcast width. Command of the right-side and left-side impellers is achieved either manually by and operator, or automatically by a control system based on sensor input.

  • Publication number: 20050020330
Abstract: A composite threshing element, for a rotor in an agricultural harvester crop processing unit, comprising a hollow support structure with at least one outwardly extending crop engaging portion, and a forwardly extending infeed element attachment feature. The rotor comprises a drum to which crop processing elements for an infeed section and a threshing section are affixed. The threshing element is bolted to a frusto-conical portion of the rotor drum, with a portion of an infeed element bolting to the infeed element attachment feature.
