  • Publication number: 20110042459
Abstract: Disclosed herein are stabilized weapon mount systems that allow a gunner (i.e. operator of a weapon) to mount and operate a standard weapon in a manner similar to a stand-alone weapon while compensating for the motion of the platform. The system includes an aiming gimbal that is movable by an operator during stabilization into an aiming orientation directed toward a target and a stabilization gimbal nested within the aiming gimbal and adapted to securely couple to a weapon. The stabilization gimbal and aiming gimbal are mechanically coupled by a control unit such that the stabilization gimbal is moved by the control unit and the aiming gimbal is not moved by the control unit. A stabilization device automatically commands the control unit to move the stabilization gimbal relative to the aiming gimbal using the motors to correct for the base movement and maintain the aiming orientation directed toward the target.

  • Publication number: 20110037241
Abstract: A powered coupling system is configured to interconnect utility lines such as fluid and/or electric lines of a vehicle tractor to a trailer. A curved track is mounted to a frame of the tractor, and the system includes pneumatic and/or electrical connectors that move along the curved track to align the connectors with a corresponding connectors on a trailer. A linear actuator causes the connectors on the tractor to shift vertically to connect and disconnect the connectors on the tractor to connectors on the trailer. The curved track permits alignment of the connectors on the tractor with the connectors on the trailer even if the trailer is not in a straight line with the tractor.

  • Publication number: 20070256013
Abstract: The present invention provides a control interface for one or more instruments that comprise an image acquisition system, the control interface consisting of kinesthetic controls that do not require visual attention. The control interface of the present invention maps kinesthetic controls such as sliders and knobs to a system computer and software running thereon which is directing the operation of individual imaging instruments.

  • Publication number: 20070247528
Abstract: The present invention provides synchronization and control between the wavelength of a multi-wavelength illuminator and the image frames acquired by a video camera. In accordance with the present invention, the trailing edge of a camera expose-signal triggers a pre-loaded digital value to be output from a FIFO buffer. The digital value selects a particular illumination wavelength either directly or through a voltage from a digital to analog converter. The FIFO may be periodically refilled, or it may be a circular register.

  • Publication number: 20060184381
Abstract: A method and system for matching ready-to-act consumers and pre-qualified service providers are described. Consumer-to-Business commerce transactions can be facilitated by pre-qualifying both consumers and service providers and matching a consumer who selects a single, pre-qualified service provider. For example, according to one exemplary embodiment of the invention, using information provided by the consumer, such as the consumer's address, type of work requested, etc., a matching system can determine whether a single, pre-qualified home service provider chosen by the consumer matches or meets the service need of the consumer and other criteria of the matching system. If the matching system determines that the consumer and the consumer's single, selected home service provider are not a match, then the consumer may permit his or her service request to be matched with the consumer lead criteria of one or more un-known or not previously selected service providers relative to the consumer.

  • Patent number: 6536435
Abstract: A quick release mechanism and headpiece for use with a respirator. The quick release mechanism uses a cam latch pivotably attached to a yoke to control the tension in an upper tension strap. In the latched position the upper tension strap traverses the yoke and, together with a pair of lower tension straps and neck catch, support and seal the respirator mask against the face of the wearer. In the unlatched position the upper tension straps loosely support the mask below the chin of the wearer in a parked position. The upper strap is attached to a circular shaped headpiece having a crown piece fitting to the top of the head of the wearer. The lower straps are attached to a rounded neck catch secured behind the neck of the wearer. The upper and lower straps preferably and advantageously comprise a material or materials having a low maximum elongation to ensure a snug and comfortable mask fit.

  • Patent number: 6076641
Abstract: A wheeled upright luggage case having oversized wheels for improved rolling movement. The luggage case has a pair of wheels that are oversize in proportion to the body of the case. The oversize wheels are rotatably mounted in fender assemblies disposed on the outsides of the body of the case, so that the oversize wheels do not detract from the cargo capacity of the case. The wheels are mounted to protrude a specified relational distance from the bottom, or the back and the bottom, of the case to permit the case to be rolled while tilted at a wide variety of angles and to easily be pulled up stairs or curbs.
