  • Patent number: 5904239
Abstract: A roller conveyor has drive rollers individually connected to a stepping motor and idler rollers arranged longitudinally in two rows. The conveyor is divided longitudinally into a plurality of sections, each section being provided with a sensor and one of control cards that are sequentially connected and can exchange signals such that objects can be transported longitudinally on these rollers from one section to the next without colliding each other. Each drive roller has a wear-resistant lining around the drive shaft of the associated stepping motor such that the drive rollers can start and stop rotation gradually even if the associated motors are started or stopped abruptly.

  • Patent number: 5076024
Abstract: A disk polisher has a horizontal turntable for moving workpieces around thereon and an assembly for holding flat grinding surfaces of grinding stone against these moving workpieces. The grinding stone pieces are provided with throughholes and are attached to a supporting body having internal passageways. Orifices are provided to connect these internal passageways with the throughholes such that a high-pressure fluid such as air can be directed through the passageways and the throughholes to apply external force on processed workpieces which tend to stick to the grinding surfaces due to the surface tension of water used for grinding. The diametrical shapes of the orifices and throughholes are carefully determined such that the processed workpieces can be reliably separated while the pressure drop inside the passageway due to escaping air will be minimized.

  • Patent number: 5000651
Abstract: A disk gripper has a rotary actuator with a horizontally supported shaft, a swing arm which is attached to and can rotate with this shaft and a finger arm which is connected to the swing arm such that the connected arms together extend radially from the shaft. Gripper fingers on the finger arm have mutually coplanar flat outer surfaces which point downward when the arms are in the horizontally extended position. The gripper fingers are provided with grooves and are movable toward or away from one another while their flat outer surfaces slidingly move over a horizontal support surface such that a disk lying on this surface can be engaged in these grooves or disengaged therefrom. The swing arm and the finger arm are slidable within a limited distance with respect to each other in a direction perpendicular to their extension.

  • Patent number: 4735178
Abstract: A turbo-supercharger is provided for internal combustion engines which comprises a turbine disposed at an intermediate portion of an exhaust passage for the engine, and which is driven by a gas flowing therein. A compressor is disposed at an intermediate portion of a suction passage for the engine and is driven by said turbine. Also, a pre-chamber is disposed at that portion of the suction passage which is on the downstream side of the compressor, and is characterized by a resonance chamber which is communicated with the suction passage via a branch passage. The branch passage can be connected to the suction passage between the pre-chamber and the compressor, between the throttle valve and a fuel injection nozzle, on the upstream side of the compressor or directly at the pre-chamber.

  • Patent number: 4444013
Abstract: An internal combustion engine has a compressor in its intake passage and an exhaust turbine driven by exhaust gases, the turbine driving the compressor. A charge pipe downstream from the compressor charges a plenum chamber and the output from the plenum chamber passes through an intake pipe equipped with a throttle valve. The cross section area of the charge pipe is less than that of the maximum opening through the throttle valve. A branch pipe connects the charge pipe to a resonance chamber and the cross section area of the branch pipe is equal to or greater than the restricted cross section area of the charge pipe, with the result that surging of the compressor is minimized.

  • Patent number: 4413602
Abstract: An internal combustion engine fuel injection control apparatus is disclosed in which a basic fuel injection signal for light load is calculated as a function of the manifold pressure when the engine is operating with a light load, and a basic fuel injection signal for heavy load is obtained with the revolution number and the throttle valve position as the parameters when the engine is operating with a heavy load. The engine load condition (light or heavy) is decided in dependence upon the throttle valve position or the manifold pressure. The circuit employed for switch-over from a heavy load to a light load or vice versa preferably has a hysteresis characteristic.
