    Abstract: A rotary device includes: a housing that accommodates a shaft; and a rolling bearing. The rolling bearing includes an outer ring that is attached to the housing, an inner ring that rotates integrally with the shaft, a plurality of tapered rollers, and a cage, and is configured to generate pumping action that causes fluid to flow with an axial component in a bearing annular space when the shaft rotates. A space in the housing on one side of the rolling bearing in the axial direction is a space that is closed except a side close to the rolling bearing. The rolling bearing further includes an oil reservoir portion provided to an end portion of the outer ring in the axial direction and configured to store lubricant between the oil reservoir portion and the outer ring.

    Abstract: A cage assembly is moved in the axial direction to approach an inner ring from a small rib portion side. An inner ring assembly is constituted by causing tapered rollers of the cage assembly to climb over a small rib portion to be fitted on an inner raceway surface, and then is assembled to an outer ring. In this method, a jig is provided adjacent to the small rib portion. The jig includes recessed grooves that are formed in the outer peripheral portion of the jig and that enable contact of the respective tapered rollers. Each recessed groove has a recessed arcuate shape in cross section. The tapered rollers of the cage assembly are caused to slide radially outward along the recessed grooves, so that the diameter of cage is increased. Accordingly, the tapered rollers climb over the small rib portion to be fitted on the inner raceway surface.

The tubular portion is formed in the shape of a cylinder, and fixed to an end portion of the outer ring. The annular portion is formed in the shape of a circular ring. An end portion of the annular portion on the outer side is connected to an end portion of the tubular portion on one side. The projecting portion projects radially inward from the inner peripheral surface of the annular portion in the radial direction.

An inclined surface is disposed on the outer peripheral surface of the large rib at one end in the axial direction. The distance from the rotational axis of the inner ring to the inclined surface becomes larger from one side in the axial direction toward the other side. An end of the inclined surface is positioned, in the axial direction, between the annular portion and one end of the outer ring in the axial direction.
