    Abstract: In a communication system of a CDMA type used in a base station to control transmission power sent to a mobile station through a forward channel, a base station controller controls transmission power of a plurality of base station transceivers by monitoring channel reception quality information sent from each of the mobile stations which are communicating with the base station and by reducing the transmission power in each of the transceivers with reference to total or average transmission power of the base station.
