    Abstract: A wake-up control device includes a detector and a wake-up unit. When an apparatus is in a power-saving state in which power consumption is lower than power consumption in a normal state, the detector detects a hand or finger approaching an operation unit operated in order to perform a wake-up operation of changing a state of the apparatus from the power-saving state to the normal state. In the case where the apparatus is in the power-saving state, if the detector detects a hand or finger approaching the operation unit, even when the operation unit has not been operated, the wake-up unit performs a wake-up operation of changing the state of the apparatus from the power-saving state to the normal state.
