  • Publication number: 20050257547
Abstract: A vehicular air conditioner includes a reversible heat pump having an air distribution fan positioned upstream of an indoor heat exchanger, a coolant heat exchanger positioned downstream of the indoor heat exchanger, and a damper arranged adjacent to a coolant heat exchanger. An engine cooling water system is connected to the coolant heat exchanger. A subassembly is used for positioning the damper in the fully opened condition such that the coolant heat exchanger is made an air intake flow path in addition to an air flow path of an air bypass space during a cooling operation. The engine cooling water system includes a coolant bypass valve connected between a primary side flow path and a secondary side flow path for engine cooling water to bypass the coolant heat exchanger. When the damper fully opens a full quantity of the engine cooling water flows to the secondary side flow path.

  • Patent number: 4928723
Abstract: An improvement in a capacity control valve for use in a fluid compressor with a relatively high pressure HP and a relatively low pressure LP for changing the operational characteristics thereof by using the relatively high pressure HP taking into consideration that an increased pressure loss of the refrigerant as generated from an increased flow rate thereof and the thermal load on the car cooler would occasionally occur on the part of the relatively high pressure HP during the operation.

  • Patent number: 4580620
Abstract: In an air conditioner, the control of the airflow rate is effected by utilizing both the temperature deviation between the room temperature and a set temperature and an air-mix damper position as a proportional control factor with the airflow rate compensation being based on an incremental integer control factor which has been derived from the temperature deviation.

  • Patent number: 4540040
Abstract: An air cooling temperature control system for use in vehicles including a cooler having a compressor, a heater having an air-mix damper and a room air temperature regulator, in which feedback control is effected so that a room air temperature may coincide with a preset temperature value. The output of the heater is regulated to respond to sudden changes in the room air temperature by controlling the opening of the air-mix damper. The duty cycle of the compressor is regulated by a controller so as to respond to gradual changes in room air temperature while the output of the heater is at a low level and to incrementally decrease the duty cycle of the compressor when the output of the heater is above the low level, thereby driving the output of the heater down so as to minimize the counteracting effects of concurrent heating and cooling, so that the desired room air temperature is maintained with minimal energy.

  • Patent number: 4485863
Abstract: A control device is used in a car-mounted air-conditioner of the air mixing type, in which a portion of the cold air, obtained by passing air through an evaporator, is heated by a heater via an air mixing damper. The control device includes a pulse generator, which is supplied with the outputs of a temperature setting device and of a room temperature sensor both of which are provided in a car in which the air-conditioner is mounted. The control device provides an amplified multi-phase pulse signal, based on deviations of the outputs, to an intermittent driving device responsive for rotating the air mixing damper.

  • Patent number: 4481789
Abstract: An air conditioner for vehicles in which the temperature of an evaporator is detected and an ON-OFF control of the compressor is achieved to maintain the evaporator temperature at a pre-set temperature. The air conditioner has means for detecting the temperature of air flowing into the evaporator, and means for varying the pre-set temperature in such a manner that the pre-set temperature is increased as the detected air temperature is decreased and is decreased as the detected air temperature is increased.
