  • Publication number: 20090295827
Abstract: In order to allow a user to more easily set a correction amount in overdrive (OD) driving of a liquid crystal display device, a display control apparatus which determines a driving parameter for overdrive of the liquid crystal display device includes a first display unit which repeatedly scrolls a preset reference pattern image in one direction, a second display unit which statically displays a plurality of sample images identical to the reference pattern image and having pseudo-afterimage regions whose end portions in a scroll direction are different from each other, a selection acceptance unit which accepts selection of one sample image of the plurality of sample images, and a determination unit which determines the driving parameter for overdrive based on the difference between the pixel value of the pseudo-afterimage region of a selected sample image and the pixel value of the reference pattern image.

  • Publication number: 20080252583
Abstract: A liquid-crystal display apparatus comprising, a liquid-crystal display device driven by an AC voltage, an image divider configured to temporally divide input image data into N (N?2) for each frame, a correction unit configured to correct a driving voltage for driving the liquid-crystal display device based on a difference between adjacent divided image data obtained by the N division, a polarity inverter configured to invert a polarity to make drive polarities of adjacent divided image data different, out of the divided image data obtained by the N division including the divided image data for which driving voltage is corrected by the correction unit, a driver configured to drive the liquid-crystal display device using the polarity-inverted divided image data, and an inversion order alteration unit which alters an inversion order for the drive polarities.

  • Publication number: 20080063048
Abstract: A display apparatus comprises an input unit adapted to input frame data; a memory adapted to store frame data; a decision unit adapted to decide correction data by comparing the frame data that has been input and the frame data that immediately precedes the input frame data in the memory; an add-on unit adapted to add the decided correction data onto the frame data that has been input; a storage control unit adapted to store the input frame data, onto which the correction data has been added, in the memory; a correction unit adapted to read out the frame data, which has been stored in the memory, at a predetermined frame rate, and to correct the frame data based upon the correction data that has been added onto the frame data; and a display control unit adapted to display an image on the monitor based upon the corrected frame data.

  • Publication number: 20070286480
Abstract: A first conversion characteristic is calculated from image information of a first image region including target pixel of an input image, a second conversion characteristic is calculated from image information of a second image region including the first image region, and a third conversion characteristic is calculated using the first and second conversion characteristics and a weighted coefficient. Then, a luminance value of the target pixel is converted and outputted based on the third conversion characteristic.
