  • Patent number: 8613029
Abstract: A wireless transmission system is provided that can minimize the control command transmission amount by operating a plurality of sink devices in conjunction with each other with respect to each group when performing a wireless AV transmission. The wireless transmission system includes: a bridge device (1) which wireless-transmits an AV content; and a plurality of wireless sink devices (5, 6) which reproduce the wireless-transmitted AV content. The bridge device (1) has a group identification table which stores a group identifier for identifying a group formed by the wireless sink device (5, 6). The bridge device (1) adds a group identifier extracted from the group identification table to a control command for controlling the sink devices (5, 6) and wireless-transmits the control command having the group identifier. The wireless sink devices (5, 6) receive a control command wireless-transmitted from the bridge device (1) if a corresponding group identifier is added to the control command.

  • Patent number: 8565252
Abstract: Provided is a wireless transmission system which can transmit data accompanying video/audio by a different transmission method depending on the characteristic of the data in a wireless transmission environment where the transmission band is narrow and a transmission error is easily caused. The wireless transmission system includes: a wireless receiver (3) connected to a sink device (4); and a wireless transmitter (2) connected to a source device (1). A wireless communication is performed between the wireless receiver (3) and the wireless transmitter (2) so that video and audio are outputted from the source device (1) to the sink device (4). The wireless receiver (3) and/or the wireless transmitter (2) categorizes the data accompanying the video and the audio in accordance with the characteristic thereof and transmits the accompanying data by using a different transmission method depending on the categorization.

  • Patent number: 8424050
Abstract: It is an object to provide a broadcast receiving device capable of shortening the time from turning-on until display of an IP broadcast. A broadcast receiving device 1, after its start-up, automatically performs setting related to an Internet protocol (IP) including setting of an address of a DNS server and receives an IP broadcast of a specified channel by multicast communication, wherein the broadcast receiving device starts to receive the IP broadcast from an IP broadcast server 53a through an IP network 4 by specifying a multicast address corresponding to the specified channel that is stored beforehand, before completion of the setting of the address of the DNS server.

  • Publication number: 20130021531
Abstract: Disclosed is a wireless transmission system provided with: a sink device which, when AV data transmitted by means of multicast wireless transmission from a source device is reproduced, performs reproduction control in accordance with the wireless connection state of another sink device that reproduces the AV data from the same source device; and the source device which is capable of determining the wireless connection state and the reproduction control state of the sink device. When the AV data obtained by means of multicast wireless transmission from the source device (1) is reproduced, the sink device (2a) acquires state information indicating the wireless connection state of the other sink device and adjusts reproduction control for the AV data of the actual sink device (2a) in accordance with this state information.

The wireless sink devices (5, 6) receive a control command wireless-transmitted from the bridge device (1) if a corresponding group identifier is added to the control command.

  • Publication number: 20110289545
Abstract: When reproducing AV data transmitted from a source device by multicast wireless transmission, a sink device can check the wireless connection status of other sink device which reproduces AV data from the same source device. The sink device (2a) includes: an AV reception portion which receives AV data through multicast wireless transmission from the source device (1); a reproduction portion which extracts and reproduces AV data transmitted to the sink device (2a) from the received AV data; and a device information receiving portion that wirelessly receives a portion or whole of the sink device information managed in the source device (1). The sink device information correlates identification information for identifying a plurality of sink devices (2a, 2b, . . . ) containing the sink device (2a) with state information indicative of wireless connection status of the sink devices (2a, 2b, . . . ).

  • Publication number: 20110194454
Abstract: Disclosed are a wireless transmission system and a wireless transmission method that prevent CEC protocols from being affected by wireless communication transmission delays or buffering delays and failing when CEC communication is performed wirelessly in the HDMI standard. The CEC control unit of a first wireless communication device (illustrated with a receiver (3)) exchanges CEC messages with the CEC control unit provided for a display device (illustrated with a monitor (4)) using a logical address corresponding to the device type of the AV device (illustrated with STB (1)). The CEC control unit of a second wireless communication device (illustrated with a transmitter (2)) exchanges CEC messages with the CEC control unit provided for STB (1) using a logical address corresponding to the device type of the monitor (4).
