  • Patent number: 6072599
Abstract: Image data received from an original-document reading portion is stored in an image memory, and then transmitted to another facsimile apparatus. At this time, whenever image data for one communication is transmitted, information indicating a result of the transmission is stored. Also, image data received from a personal computer is stored in an image memory, and is then transmitted to the other facsimile apparatus. At this time, whenever image data for one communication is transmitted, information indicating a result of the transmission is stored. A communication management report is then output which enables identification to easily be performed with respect to whether image data supplied from the original-document reading portion has been transmitted or image data supplied from the personal computer has been transmitted.

  • Patent number: 4887226
Abstract: A dot printing device includes a head having a plurality of dot printing elements, a head driver for selectively energizing the dot printing elements according to dot data, a character generator, and data processing unit which causes designated character data to be generated from said character generator according to frist input data including character designation data and underline data and transfers the designated character data together with one-bit dot data representing an underline to the head driver. The data processing unit operates according to second input data including character designation data, underline data and double height data to print an upper half portion of the designated character data in a first printing cycle and transfers dot data representing a lower half of the designated character data and two-bit dot data representing an underline to the head driver in a second printing cycle.

  • Patent number: 4815878
Abstract: A printing apparatus and a paper controlling method for a printer in which, upon activating a power source or upon changing over to the on-line mode or upon switching to a high paper feed speed, a paper feed motor is rotated first reversely to draw back paper by an amount a little greater than an amount of a possible slack and then forwardly to advance the paper. Accordingly, paper slack can be cancelled adjacent a print head in preparation for subsequent printing. Accordingly, high quality printing can be attained.

  • Patent number: 4602880
Abstract: A dot printing device includes a head having a plurality of head pins, a dot driver for selectively energizing the head pins according to dot data, a character generator, and a data processing unit for causing N-bit dot data constituting designated character data to be generated sequentially by the character generator according to input character designation data, and supplied to the head driver. The data processing unit causes a plurality of N-bit dot data corresponding to the input character designation data to be generated from the character generator according to input character designation data and italic printing data, and supplies the lower bit of the N-bit dot data and (N-1) bits with predetermined delay times with respect to the lowest bit to the head driver.
