  • Patent number: 11724770
Abstract: A cycling footwear cleat for connection to a receiving portion of a pedal is shown. The pedal includes a mounting shaft to which the receiving portion of the pedal is rotatably mounted. The cleat including: a mount for mounting the cleat to an underside of cycling footwear; an attachment portion for receipt by the receiving portion of the pedal; and a resilient member provided between the attachment portion and the receiving portion when the pedal is attached to the cleat. The resilient member resists movement of the attachment portion relative to the receiving portion. The resilient member improves a cyclist's pedalling efficiency, as well as allowing for variable float of the cleat within the pedal as and when required.

  • Publication number: 20220153383
Abstract: Conventional bicycle pedals and cleats are provided in a myriad of specific designs. Cleat designs offer varying amounts of relative movement between the pedal and cleat to accommodate the needs of cyclists. However there exists room for improvement in existing designs for a cleat which improves a cyclist's pedalling technique and pedalling efficiency, which in turn reduces the likelihood of knee and other injuries, whilst at the same time reducing the rate of cleat wear.

  • Publication number: 20220072534
Abstract: Method for transferring one or more portions of fluid from a specimen tube, comprising: providing an elongate connector comprising an elongated tube having a lumen or through-hole extending between proximal and distal ends thereof, a Luer-compatible female taper provided on the proximal end of the connector, a flange provided proximate the distal end of the connector; providing a tube seal mounted on the distal end of the connector, the tube seal comprising an elastomeric member having a longitudinal axis, a proximal end, a distal end, and a through-hole extending therebetween, the distal end having a frustoconical or chamfered face forming a funnel, the elastomeric member having an outer diameter sized to sealingly engage with an inner surface of the specimen tube; advancing the distal end of the connector and the tube seal into the specimen tube, the funnel directing the first layer into the through-hole of the connector.

  • Publication number: 20150313682
Abstract: A self-contained antiseptic delivery system and methods of use are disclosed. The antiseptic delivery system is especially adapted for use in disinfecting skin at a surgical site prior to surgery. The system is defined by an applicator that is used with an antiseptic preparation. The applicator is a hand article encased by a protective sheath that defines an aseptic field. The system utilizes structures that allow the applicator to be maintained in an aseptic condition during storage, while enabling aseptic deployment of the applicator for use.
