  • Publication number: 20080191607
Abstract: A Phosphor represented by the general formula Zn(1?x)AxS:E,D is characterized by having a Blue-Cu light-emitting function. In the above general formula, A represents at least one group 2A element selected from the group consisting of Be, Mg, Ca, Sr and Ba; E represents an activator containing Cu or Ag; D represents a coactivator containing at least one element selected from group 3B and group 7B elements; and x represents a mixed crystal ratio satisfying 0?x<1. The activator is preferably contained at a molar concentration equal to or higher than that of the coactivator for obtaining emission of short wavelength. As the activator, Cu and Ag are respectively used by themselves, while Ag can be suitably used in combination with Au.

  • Publication number: 20080142435
Abstract: A surface light emitting device utilizes special features of a back light, and emits ultraviolet light. The surface light emitting device also functions as a filter that allows the passage of a fluid. The surface emitting device includes a light source; and a light guide plate with the light source disposed on a side surface thereof, wherein at least one of the front surface and rear surface of the light guide plate is a light emitting surface for emitting light from the light source. Surfaces other than the light emitting surface of the light guide plate and the side surface are formed as light shielding surfaces. The emitted light has a peak wavelength of 388 nm or less. The surface emitting device can be one in which the light guide plate has a plurality of through-holes, and the surface in which the through-holes are formed is a light emitting surface.

  • Publication number: 20080057343
Abstract: An EL phosphor contains a conductor phase including carbon nanotubes, carbon nanohorns, or another carbon component. The phosphor includes a sulfide that has Ag— or Cu-activated ZnS as a main component thereof. The phosphor includes material expressed by the general formula Zn(1?x)AxS:Ag/Cu, D (where A is at least one type of group 2A element selected from the group consisting of Be, Mg, Ca, Sr, and Ba; D is a coactivator and is at least one element selected from the group consisting of group 3B or group 7B elements; and 0?x<1), or an amorphous oxynitride phosphor comprising B—N—O, Si—O—N, Al—O—N, Ga—O—N, Al—Ga—O—N, In—Ga—O—N, or In—Al—O—N, which are activated by Eu2+, Gd3+, Yb2+, or another earth metal ion.

  • Patent number: 4839878
Abstract: A disk control device for controlling the positioning of an optical disk having address sections in each of which a plurality of identical track addresses and a plurality of identical sector addresses are written. Data are written in a sector specified by a designated track address and a designated sector address when the result of comparison of the designated track address for starting writing and track addresses read out of an optical disk shows coincidence of the designated track address and any of the track addresses read out and, at the same time, the result of comparison of the designated sector address for starting writing and sector addresses read out of the disk shows that one of the sector addresses is identical with the designated sector address, and when at least one of the results of comparison of the designated track address and the track addresses written in the address sections of the individual sectors which are defined in one track is representative of coincidence.
