A photographing condition determination section determines photographing conditions for consecutively photographing a plurality of images by the image sensor, according to a photometry result and the calculated reliability.

The apparatus includes a filter that extracts components of a first frequency band from the result, and derives the blur correction amount based on the components of the first frequency band associated with the motion blur extracted by the filter, and causes the first frequency band extracted by the filter to vary in accordance with the obtained status information.

The setting includes calculating an image deterioration amount of the imaging device caused by something other than a shake from the outside, and selecting a determination level that defines the specified shake amount from a plurality of determination levels having different shake amounts on the basis of the image deterioration amount.

A gain control unit controls a gain to be multiplied by the output of the LPF based on the output of the detection unit and the output of the motion determination unit.
