  • Patent number: 5601099
Abstract: A retainer used for hair joining includes a retainer body, a rod-like member on one end portion of the retainer body, and an elongated cushion member which has multiple cuts and which is arranged on the retainer body such that it is spaced apart from the rod-like member. Reducible looped portions are formed on one end of each of multiple joining hairs to allow the rod-like member to pierce therethrough. The free ends of the multiple joining hairs are clamped by the plurality of cuts in the cushion member.

  • Patent number: 5497796
Abstract: A method for joining hair comprises the steps of forming a reducible loop on one end of a strand of joining hair, reducing and tightening the loop after piercing a strand of stationary hair through the loop, and weaving and tying together both of the joining hair and stationary hair to firmly join the two hair pieces. A joining hair used for the hair joining method is characterized in that at least one strand of hair is folded into two and free ends of the hair are pierced through the folded portion to form a loop on the joining hair. This loop or looped portion is then heated to curl so that the looped portion may not be lost or straightened. A joining hair retainer used for the hair joining method comprises a retainer body, a rod-like member disposed on one end portion of the retainer body, and an elongated cushion member disposed on the retainer body in such a manner as to be spaced apart from the rod-like member, and having a plurality of cuts.

  • Wig
    Patent number: 5044382
Abstract: In a wig, a hair-planting framework bulges outwardly as a whole to have a cap-like outer configuration. The hair-planting framework has a peripheral-edge frame formed generally into an elongated elliptic configuration, and interlocking chain-like thread elements each of which is formed by a filament so knitted as to have stretchability. The chain-like thread elements are arranged within the peripheral-edge frame in intersected relation. The chain-like thread elements are fastened to the peripheral-edge frame to define openings in the hair-planting framework. When the wig is worn onto a head of a wearer, strands of existing hair of the wearer are drawn outwardly through the openings and are blended with strands of hair planted to the hair-planting framework.

  • Patent number: 4949737
Abstract: A wig having a shape retaining element for preventing turning-up, distortion and so on of a wig base. This shape retaining element (12) is made of a shape memory alloy whose transformation temperature (Af point) is higher than the surrounding temperature at a location between a surface of a user's head and the wig base during a period for which the wig (10) is worn on the head. The shape retaining element is arranged in position on the side of an inner surface or an outer surface of the wig base (11). When the shape retaining element is deformed into a corrugated configuration due to several uses, the shape retaining element is heated to a temperature equal to or higher than the transformation temperature, whereby the shape retaining element is restored to a beforehand stored shape. Thus, the wig can repeatedly be worn under new condition.
