    Abstract: A method manufactures a disk drive unit having a stator part that includes a base and a shaft member extending in an axial direction, and a rotor part that is rotatably supported by the stator part and includes a sleeve accommodating at least a part of the shaft member, and a hub fixed to an outer peripheral surface of the sleeve and including a setting surface on which a recording disk is set. The method includes fixing the hub to the outer peripheral surface of the sleeve, cutting the setting surface by a cutting tool that moves in a direction perpendicular to a rotational axis of the rotor part while rotating the rotor part, in a state in which the hub is fixed to the outer peripheral surface of the sleeve, and accommodating the shaft member in the sleeve after the cutting.
