  • Patent number: 6126646
Abstract: A plastic adaptor top for adapting to a chosen syringe a standard cartridge of the kind having a neck with a flange and being closed by a rubber membrane sealingly secured against the flange by a metal cover having its edge beaded behind the flange. This plastic top has a bore for receiving the neck part of the cartridge, which bore has a diameter making it fit over the metal cover and is provided with protrusions gripping behind the edge of the metal cover when the neck part is inserted in the bore. The outer contour of the adaptor top is provided with threads coaxial with the bore to receive a needle hub in a way causing the needle to penetrate the membrane of the cartridge when the hub is mounted on the thread of the plastic top.

  • Patent number: 5984900
Abstract: A pen shaped syringe with automatic needle insertion has an injection system integrally displaceable in a housing and comprising a basic part carrying a medicine reservoir with a hypodermic needle at its distal end, and a dosing mechanism with a carrier engaging a cogged piston rod, the carrier being coupled to a dose spindle in a rotatable but not displaceable way. The dose spindle is provided with a thread engaging a thread in a sequence part having protrusions engaging slots in the basic part to allow a limited axial movement of the parts in relation to each other, the extent of the movement being defined by the rotational position of the dose spindle. A spring is compressed between the basic part and the housing when the basic part is moved in the proximal direction by exerting a cocking force on the sequence part which part after having performed the set limited axial movement in relation to the basic part carries this basic part against the force of the spring.

  • Patent number: 5957889
Abstract: In a displacement system for controlled infusion of a liquid from a cartridge comprising a tubular vessel (1), which is at a rear end closed by a piston (3) which may be forced by a piston rod (8) moving into the vessel (1) in the axial direction thereof to press out the liquid through an outlet (2) arranged at a front end of the vessel (1), the piston rod (8) is provided as a flexible incompressible construction which is by a piston rod guide (9) behind the rear end of the cartridge deflected away from the axis of this cartridge, preferably 180.degree.. The piston rod guide (9) has a guiding track comprising a curved part and linear parts at each end of the curved part ensuring that the piston rod is guided along a length (a) in the direction of the axis of the cartridge which length (a) is longer than the distance (b) between the two axes of the piston rod parts projecting from the piston rod guide.

  • Patent number: 5906398
Abstract: In a joint for joining a first and a second part so that these first and second parts maintain a predefined rotational position in relation to each other, where the joint comprises an internal thread (33) in the firs part (34), which internal thread has an inner end and an outer free end receiving an outer free end of a corresponding external thread (22) on the second part (21) which external thread has an inner end adjacent to the second part, the free end of the ridge and the inner end of the groove forming the threads are bounded by surfaces (27, 39) lying in a plane through the axis of the threads, and the length of the threads are so adapted that a plane end surface of the ridge of one thread engages the plane end surface of the groove of the other thread when the two parts are screwed together and occupy the predefined mutual rotational position.

  • Patent number: 5693027
Abstract: A plastic top for adapting to a chosen syringe (14) a standard cartridge (8) of the kind having a neck (9) with a flange (10) and being closed by a rubber membrane (11) sealingly secured against the flange (10) by a metal cover (12) having its edge beaded behind the flange. This plastic top has a bore (2) for receiving the neck part (9) of the cartridge (8), which bore (2) has a diameter making it fit over the metal cover (12) and is provided with protrusions (3;9) gripping behind the edge of the metal cover (12) when the neck part (9) is inserted in the bore. The outer contour of the plastic top is adapted to the syringe type in which the cartridge is going to be used. The plastic top is provided with a thread (5;18) coaxial with the bore to receive a needle hub (13) in a way making its needle (15) penetrate the membrane (11) of the cartridge (8) when the hub (13) is mounted on the thread (5) of the plastic top.

  • Patent number: 5611783
Abstract: A pen-shaped syringe comprises a first part containing a dose setting and driving mechanism from which a piston rod is advanced by a carrier to actuate a piston of a reservoir in a second part. The first and second parts are coupled together by a bayonet coupling, wherein the bayonet coupling element of the second part has members for rotating a piston rod guide mounted on the bayonet coupling element of the first part. The piston rod determines the rotational position of the piston rod which rotational position again determines the engagement between the carrier and the piston rod.
