  • Patent number: 9499726
Abstract: A pressure-sensitive adhesive consisting of a homogeneous mixture of at least one natural rubber component and at least one polyacrylate component displays significantly improved properties in cohesion and aging and weathering resistance compared to the individual components. Particularly good properties are achieved when the adhesive contains x % by weight of at least one natural rubber component, y % by weight of at least one polyacrylate component, v % by weight of at least one adhesive resin component and w % by weight of additives, where 10?×x?80, 10?y<95, 0?v?50, 0?w?10 and x+y+v+w=100. A single- or double-sided adhesive tape consisting of at least one support and at least one layer of such a pressure-sensitive adhesive therefore likewise has good cohesion and aging resistance properties.

  • Publication number: 20160083549
Abstract: Process for producing a pressure-sensitive adhesive comprising expanded microballoons, wherein the constituients for forming the adhesive are mixed in a first mixing assembly, the mixed adhesive is transferred into a second mixing assembly into which, at the same time, unexpanded microballoons are fed, the microballoons are expanded in the second mixing assembly or on exit from the second mixing assembly, the adhesive mixture with the expanded microballoons is shaped to a layer in a shaping assembly in which expanded microballoons which have broken through the surface are pressed into the layer surface and the layer of adhesive mixture together with the expanded microballoons are optionally applied to a weblike backing material.

  • Patent number: 8680178
Abstract: The in-line repair operations in the automotive industry require high-temperature masking tapes which satisfy a particular profile of requirements. Hence such masking tapes must be temperature-stable and must have a high crosslinking potential. Masking tapes employed are tapes coated with thermally crosslinking natural rubber (NR) adhesives which have a crosslinker resin/phenolic resin component.

  • Publication number: 20110120615
Abstract: Self-adhesive consisting of a mixture having at least one tackifier resin, expanded polymeric microbeads and a polymer blend made up of thermoplastic and/or non-thermoplastic elastomers with at least one vinylaromatic block copolymer containing a fraction of more than 30% by weight of 1,2-linked diene in the elastomer block.

  • Publication number: 20090221744
Abstract: A process is presented for the preparation of a high-cohesion non-thermoplastic pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) on the basis of elastomers, in which neither a solvent nor thermoplastic additives are used and yet thermal breakdown during compounding is kept low. This is achieved through the addition of a vaporizable process agent which is introduced into the adhesive after the constituents have been premixed and which undergoes flash vaporization therein, thereby quenching the adhesive. Furthermore, the use of water to cool the adhesive is proposed, and the high-cohesion PSA thus produced, and also a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape with an adhesive of this kind, are presented.

  • Publication number: 20090181250
Abstract: Adhesive, more particularly pressure-sensitive adhesive, which comprises expanded microballoons, the bond strength of the adhesive comprising the expanded microballoons being reduced by not more than 30%, preferably not more than 20%, more preferably 10%, in comparison to the bond strength of an adhesive of identical coatweight and formula which has been defoamed by the destruction of the voids produced by the expanded microballoons.
