  • Patent number: 11567547
Abstract: A housing for an electronic device can include a body having an exterior surface and a second surface disposed opposite the exterior surface at least partially defining an interior volume, the body defining a first repeating pattern of apertures extending from the exterior surface to the second surface. The housing can also include a component defining a second repeating pattern of apertures, the component positioned adjacent to the second surface. The first repeating pattern of apertures and the second repeating pattern of apertures can combine to define an open area of at least about 70%.

  • Patent number: 10813236
Abstract: A housing for an electronic device can include an enclosure at least partially defining an internal volume. The enclosure can include a bottom panel. The housing can also include a tubular frame that includes a first pair of tubular support members extending from the bottom panel and a second pair of tubular support members extending from the bottom panel. The housing can also include a first tubular top frame member disposed outside the internal volume and connected to an end of each of the first pair of tubular support members through an opening defined by the enclosure, and a second tubular top frame member disposed outside the internal volume and connected to an end of each of the second pair of tubular support members through an opening defined by the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 10681843
Abstract: Aspects of the subject technology relate to electronic devices having adaptive surfaces. An adaptive surface may expand or deform responsive to a temperature change and/or a mechanical strain for thermal management for the device or for mechanical restructuring of the device in various configurations. The adaptive surface may be formed from a negative Poisson's ratio relief pattern in the surface or an inhomogeneous arrangement of materials.

  • Patent number: 10645832
Abstract: An electronic device can include a tubular frame to receive and support electronic components and a shell that defines a portion of the exterior surface of the device and an internal volume sized to encompass the electronic components and tubular frame. The shell can be removably attachable to the tubular frame by a user actuated locking mechanism.

  • Patent number: 10237660
Abstract: An electronic device including a frame member suitable for use with an audio driver is disclosed. The frame member may include a recessed region that receives the audio driver. The frame member may further include a flange member surrounding the recessed region. The frame member may be formed from a material having a relatively high coefficient of thermal conductivity. Accordingly, the frame member can dissipate thermal energy (heat) generated from the audio driver. In addition, the frame member may be seated in an enclosure of an electronic device in a manner that allows the frame member to pass the thermal energy to the enclosure. Also, the frame member may include a ferromagnetic material, which may cause the frame member to direct magnetic flux from a magnet of the audio driver in a desired manner.

  • Patent number: 8594758
Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to a system and method for noninvasive, non-destructive fluorescent measurement. More specifically, the disclosure provides a non-invasive metrology system and method to monitor levels of fluorescent chemicals in the blood. A major application for the invention is field-based non-invasive blood testing for micro-nutrient deficiency and diseases resulting from it, such as Iron deficient anemia. The invention may help reduce or eliminate the need for blood drawing, sending the sample to a blood lab and having to wait for a result.
