  • Patent number: 5462098
Abstract: An automatic tightener is provided. The tightener comprises a tightening member and means for driving said tightening member. The tightening member includes a hook portion for engaging within a loop of binding wire. The tightening member, when rotated, tightens the binding wire so as to bind adjacent reinforcing bars together by the binding wire. The driving means includes an electric motor which is powered with a rechargeable battery.

  • Patent number: 4710333
Abstract: Synthetic resin plates having an irregular flow pattern of different colors are prepared by continuously polymerizing polymerizable materials in a polymerization zone defined by confronting surfaces of two confronting and running endless belts and gaskets held between the confronting surfaces of the belts. Polymerizable materials of different colors are supplied in the polymerizable material supply region close to the upstream end of the polymerization zone by a plurality of supply means, each of which includes at least one polymerizable material supply opening to the polymerizable material supply region. The supply means are arranged in such a manner that they are spaced from one another in the direction of travel of the belts.

  • Patent number: 4548753
Abstract: The specification describes an antiulcer drug containing as an active ingredient a 2,3-butanediol diester derivative represented by the formula (I): ##STR1## where R.sub.A may for example be a saturated or unsaturated alkyl or styryl group and R.sub.B may for example be a saturated or unsaturated alkyl, phenyl, phenylalkyl, phenylpropenyl or phenoxyalkyl group. These groups may optionally be substituted. Many of 2,3-butanediol diester derivatives embraced by the formula (I) are novel. Also described are a novel process for preparing such novel 2,3-butanediol diester derivatives. The 2,3-butanediol diester derivatives of the formula (I) has an action to depress strongly the growth of peptic ulcer and has a very low toxicity.

  • Patent number: 4199995
Abstract: A cylindrical cam is obliquely mounted on a drive shaft to be shiftable in the axial direction. The cam and the drive shaft are concentric at the axial center and the eccentricity of the cam increases gradually towards the opposite ends and in opposite phases. A pair of contact members carried by a follower member engage the opposite sides of the cam. As the drive shaft is rotated a reciprocating motion is imparted to the follower member and by shifting the cam in the axial direction the amplitude of the reciprocating motion can be varied.

  • Patent number: 4092873
Abstract: In the apparatus for creating a swinging motion, one ends of two opposed sides of a flexible link are secured to a stationary member and the opposite ends of the sides are connected to a driven shaft. A cam member is slidably mounted on a drive shaft and arranged between the two sides so as to continuously engage them when the cam member is rotated by the drive shaft. The cam has gradually varying configuration and when it is shifted along the drive shaft, the swinging angle is varied. By suitably constructing the cam member it is possible to stop the swinging motion and reverse the phase thereof.

  • Patent number: 4013028
Abstract: In apparatus for imparting a swinging motion to a driven shaft from a drive shaft through a pair of eccentric discs or crank pins mounted on the drive shaft and link mechanisms, the link mechanisms comprise a pair of flexible links. Each link has a loop at one end thereof which encircles the eccentric disc or crank pin. The other ends of the links are connected to the driven shaft such that the other ends are wrapped about the driven shaft in the opposite direction and over an angle larger than the swinging angle of the driven shaft.
